PUFU update

Earlier this year, I introduced my little project, called Project Use it the F*%@ Up! (or PUFU for short).  I had identified 2 products in my stash that I really love and enjoy using, however, they were neglected and risked spoilage before they were get used up.  So I set out on a mission to finish them up.

A quick re-cap:
1) Mirabella Outshine lip gloss in Illusion
It was at 1.40cm used up out of a total of 6.2cm (7.5ml total volume).

2) Stella by Stella McCartney eau de parfum
It had 1.10cm left in the bottle out of a total 4.60cm (30ml bottle).

I’ve been making good progress!

Oops, I just realized I wrote tomorrow’s date. I’m posting from the fuuuuture!

I’ve been keeping my Mirablla lip gloss separate from the rest of my lip stuff on my desk at work, so that it’s front and center.  There are days though, when I’m rocking a darker lip, or don’t want too much shine so I haven’t been consistently using it daily as I wanted to.

But I’m pretty pleased – the level has from from the “H” down to “U”, or 2.60cm from the top.  I’ve used 1.20cm of gloss!  There are a multitude of lip products that I want to include as part of my PUFU but I think I’ll just focus on this for now.

As for the Stella perfume, I can actually see an end in sight:
PUFU5
For the past 3 months, I’ve probably worn this perfume 90% of the time (the other 10% I am wearing NEST Dahlia & Vines, which was a Best of 2014 Discovery).  I only need to spray this once since it’s an eau de parfum rather than an eau de toilette. I’ve also started to spritz a little in my hair.

Now that it’s Spring going into Summer, I likely won’t reach for this as much since I find it’s a scent better suited for cooler weather.  Maybe, just maybe, this will make an appearance in a Trash Stash in 2015!  I’ll be checking in on both items again in the Fall.

What favourite products have you been trying to give more love to?

    1. Yes, it really is nice to have a visual confirmation. I honestly didn’t think I made that much of a dent in the perfume until I saw the photos side by side. You should take photos now and see your progress in a few months.

  1. This is a great idea and I love your progress photos. It’s nice to have a visual representation of how much you’re using the product. I think I’m going to pick out a few things that are almost used up and try to finish them!

      1. Usually it’s due to IRFA regulations in the EU, unfortunately. Most older perfumes have been reformulated (I’m so sad about the original Diors) and even some of the newer ones are. No. 5 Eau Premiere got a “revamp”, too. I understand if it’s ingredients that are HTF or too pricy, but the IRFA stuff just annoys me.

        1. Oh man, I read some of the chatter online – so it happened some time in 2013 when P&G acquired Stella. Maybe now instead of rushing to finish this, I should savour it? But I don’t want it to go bad. I’ve had this for 6 yrs. I will have to get a sample of the new version and do a nose test. It’s one of my favourite scents too.

          1. The new one might not be too different; I’d give it a try. I still have a bottle (prob about 6-7 yrs old, as well) so I am also kind of torn between hoarding and using up before it turns.

Some perfumes are changed beyond recognition; hopefully Stella isn’t one of them!

    1. You’re so silly. You have a normal sized face. Mine is certified moon face, it’s really large! I’ve also been trying to show my Maybelline Fit Me conceal some love too. I don’t like wearing it alone since it’s not enough coverage, and the shade I have it in is a tad too dark, so I’ve been mixing it with a light shade of the Maybelline Age Rewind and the effect is quite pleasing! I hope to see your Fit Me concealer in a future empties post! 😉

  2. I’ve started using a liquid concealer up because I just can’t let it go to waste regardless how much I bloody hate. Weird what you use when you refuse to buy stuff xxxx
