As I’m laying out all my lip stuff in preparation for photography in today’s post, The Boy asks me, “What’s the purpose of all these pictures?”
“They’re to show my whole collection on the blog.” I reply.
“So it’s like… makeup porn?” he asks.
“YUP! You got it!” 😆

My lip stash is probably the least exciting of all of my stashes – the majority of my lip products can fit into one frame:

I’m just not that into lipsticks. I feel bold colours don’t suit my face. I’m also not into matte textures or shimmer, or overly glossy finishes – so it leaves me with a fairly narrow band of comfort zone, as you’ll see in my stash. And I only own 5 MAC lipsticks! (of which 3 are retired)  It’s relatively small by comparison to my eye shadow stash (600+) or nail polish stash (400+)   That said, I have amassed a lot of lip balms and butter butters.

I keep the bulk of my lipsticks inside a large drawer (beneath my blushes and eye shadows – the lipsticks know where they stand with me!)

This is the EOS in their natural habitat – I posted about them on Easter.  That apple one is the Bath & Body Works’ version of EOS – it’s not very good.

I’d say at least a quarter of my lip stash is slated to be tossed out due either to expiry or they’re just not colours I would ever wear (I don’t have a good excuse for why I even bought them to begin with!)  I’ve set aside a bunch of these to be featured in a future “purge” post.  I’m also embarrassed to say that yes, some of those lipsticks are indeed unused and untried.  I forgot about them!  If you have any questions about any of the products pictured, feel free to ask in the comments.

    1. It’s not that much compared to my eye shadows, blushes or nail polishes. It’s just funny to me since most beauty bloggers go ga-ga over lipsticks while I’m pretty ho-hum about them. 😛

  3. Wowzer! That is still a really impressive stash of lipsticks! I’m going through a bit of a lip phase right now where I keep buying shades that some may think are really similar but look so different to me haha! X

  5. My favorite kind of porn- makeup porn! You have so many cute lip stuff packaging, i don’t know how you don’t display them all haha. How are the Anna Sui lipsticks? I love the packaging, but I don’t know how the formula is.

    1. I went a bit overboard buying them just to have all the colours since they were so cheap on sale for $4. I’ve already set aside 3 colours that just don’t work for me (the nudey light shades).

That’s quite a lot of lipsticks for someone that’s not really into them 😉 A lot of the colours look soo gorgeous..why are you not found of them? 😦 Sorry I’m a massive lipstick lover and seeing these not used breaks my heart lolloll. Regarding formulas, I love creamy ones that are pigmented. If i were to compare to MAC i’d say cremesheens or amplifieds. Love them!

    1. I know – I have a tinge of guilt about not using these. I did actually pull out a Lise Watier lipstick today that I haven’t used in ages – it’s so nice, I really need to use it more before it goes bad.
      I’m actually gathering products for a Back-2-MAC coming up soon, and I’m thinking of trading in for a lipstick (I’ve only ever traded for eye shadows before!) so I’ll probably request opinions on what to get! 😀

    1. Haha, I wished I was more organized with them! I tend to group them by brand but I really should group them by colours, it would make it handier to choose in the mornings! Men – they’re hilarious! 😛

  9. Wow! Great collection! I just threw away a bunch from my makeup the other day. I pretty much just about filled a trash bag lol. I like those acrylic containers. Those look really nice! 🙂 xo

    1. It’s so sad that lip products expire so much faster! But I can be ruthless in my eliminations – I should do an elimination post to decide what gets cut! 😛
      I got those acrylic containers from Winners / TJMaxx from the kitchen section!

  10. For someone who isn’t all that interested in lipstick, you sure have a lot! To be fair, I can’t say anything because I have like… 70+ lipsticks and even more lip products I haven’t even counted haha.

    1. Well I should qualify it by saying that it’s a small stash RELATIVE to my other stashes (I have over 600 eye shadows and over 400 nail polishes) so by comparison, 70 lipsticks is not a lot. 😛 It’s still a LOT, yes I acknowledge that!

  11. I love when you show your whole section of your stash! I think as long as the lipstick is moisturizing, it’s something I would use up. For instance, Spellbound and Fairytale are too drying for me to want to use them all the time. I don’t see those coming to an end anytime soon.

    Thanks for posting all your lippies! That is a heckuva lot of Revlon Lip Butters! I have one, I think. How do you like the L’Oreal lipsticks? I have not bought one in probably 10 years.

    I agree it is difficult to buy more just because it does not last (or at least, you have no idea how long it will last). But I can’t help it. LOVE lip stuff.

    1. I bought the Revlon lip butters when they were on sale for like $3 or $4. I love their texture – so easy to throw them on without even looking. I’m wearing one today! In Sugar Plum.
      The L’Oreal lipsticks are great – they actually remind me a lot of the Clarins Rouge Eclat – very hydrating but good pigmentation. They even smell similar – like candy!
      It was sad pulling out some of the lipsticks for the photos and smelling them, realizing a whole bunch have expired / turned! Ugh.

        I am more a Super Lustrous Lipstick girl…as you probably know by now 😀 those $3-4 sales are nearly impossible to resist.

        Mmm I do like the Rouge Eclat. I just don’t like that style of tube. I like my lipsticks to be freestanding. So anal hahahaha!

        1. Funny what we like and dislike about packaging deters us from buying products – I really don’t like how Maybelline Vivids have those bright neon casings that do not correspond to the bullet shade! I’d rather a black or other neutral tube.
          I’m definitely putting some of those Revlon Super Lustrous on my wish list, waiting for a good sale in 2016! 😛

    1. Haha, yes Anna Sui has the cutest packaging! And the lipsticks are very good! She came out with another version of those “pineapple” lipstick range with a RED cap! I want one but they are a glitter formula, so I’m not sure if I’ll like at all:

    1. Thanks! It was fun looking at everything – so colourful! It was tempting to start swatching all of the ones I’d forgotten about! I will likely go through them by colour family and do some swatch posts. 🙂
