I’ve recently been receiving samples of the Nivea In-shower Body Milk enclosed in magazines. I’ve never tried an in-shower moisturizer before, so I decided to give them a try. The packages come with $1.50 off coupons so I figured that if liked the product, I could redeem the coupons before they expire (I am cursed with coupons, I always only remember about them the day after they expire! Anyone else?)
This is what I received in the magazines:
Folds open to reveal this:
Close up of the packet:
It’s kind of concerning there’s a warning that the tub can get slippery when using this product!
Pictorial instructions from the Nivea site:
That last icon makes me giggle – she’s flashing me!
The product itself:
It has a thick lotion consistency and smells like the classic Nivea creme in the tin.
Thoughts:
• It feels waxy upon rubbing it onto the skin, making it difficult to spread around
• There’s no lather
• It leaves a film on my skin and water just beads off
• I don’t feel clean
• My skin does feel soft and moisturized after I towel dry
I’ve tried this a few times now, and I’ve decided I wouldn’t purchase the full size. Too bad, now I don’t get to use those $1.50 off coupons!
Have you tried this? What are your thoughts on this new trend of in-shower moisturizers? Any that you’d recommend?
I have tried it and don’t like it all! I didn’t feel clean at all afterwards either. I need products that lather and this really doesn’t. I say let’s leave the moisturizers out of the showers!

Yeah I feel like it’s for the ultimate lazy / rushed people… I don’t mind moisturizing after I shower, what’s the big deal?

Seriously! I couldn’t agree more.

While I am not a huge fan of this product, I use it on days when I feel lazy to use body lotion. And this is on sale so often here – it’s quite a bargain !

Yes, I can definitely see it as a time saving product!

This sounds yuck. Lol like you’re already wet and you’re adding a lotion on top. I guess you could rip up the coupon now!

So sad, I want to coupon so badly. You don’t understand, in Canada, coupons aren’t as abundant as it is in the US. I watch that show “Extreme Couponing” with a lot of envy… “stacking coupons”??? What!

lol you made me laugh with your comment on the last image of the woman ‘flashing you’ lol!!
I tried this and was quite disappointed (have a review on it). i feel like its a bit pointless…like taking two showers? isnt it faster to just use a spray moisturiser when out of the shower? it’s not really saving time, just adding an extra step in the shower + not hydrating enough if you have very dry skin

I just don’t feel clean when using this! I’d rather apply moisturizer afterward shower too!

Yes true! However I don’t think its meant to replace soap. . It comes afterwards right?

Yeah it’s the 2nd step, I just don’t see why I’d rather moisturize in the shower rather than afterwards?

yes exactly, really not worth it – not saving any time and probably wasting more water lol

I have tried the different kind (whitening, we have abundance of these in every product) and my skin got irritated. Had a few rashes so I discontinue using.
I don’t know with this. But I’m not really solve with that slimy feeling it gives.

Yeah I don’t like the residue it left behind! 😕

I never tried it but your review doesn’t make me want to… I think I have a sample somewhere and I might test just for fun :p

Yes, I’d be interested to know if others really love this concept and I’m just odd… 😛

I always save these samples (I got this same Nivea one!) and forget to use them. LOL. Guess it’s a good thing I haven’t tried this, huh?
OMG in the US the stacking coupons are awesome. My mom would get these triple coupons from the grocery, then use them with a $2 coupon so she’d get $6 off a pack of bacon or whatever. Sometimes they give you money BACK (well I’m not sure if they actually give you money back, but you definitely get the item for free).

That’s just insanity! I also get so mad when I get magazines and there are coupons inside for makeup and they’re only valid in the US. grrrr.

Ew, that doesn’t sound too good. I’ll stay clear of this body wash/milk. lol

Some people seem to like it! My friend emailed me to ask for my coupons, lol!

I’ve used this in the winter when I have dry skin and it works well as a pre-moisturizer….I still follow with body butter. Haven’t used it since summer but I have been using the Jergens option which you don’t rinse off. I do seem to like this option more.

Thanks for letting me know – I can see how it would be good for the wintertime as another layer of moisture. Good tip!
