The Blush Addict Tag

I saw this Tag ages ago on Katie’s blog (Plus+Beauty) and I knew I had to do it.  Have you SEEN my blush stash post? 😛

What color blush suits your most?
Peachy nude shades – a good representation of this would be the Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop.

Pressed, cream or loose blush?
Pressed.  It’s just the easiest for me to work with.  I have some cream and some loose (mineral) blushes and I hardly ever reach for them.

Favorite shimmery blush?
I’m not a fan of high shimmer / frosty blushes in general, but the subtle shimmer of Cargo Rome makes it a beautiful summery bronzey blush.

Favorite matte blush?
Illamasqua makes the absolute best matte blushes – if forced to choose one, I would have to say Naked Rose.  It looks really boring in the pan but creates a very polished chiseled cheekbone when applied!

Favorite cream blush?
It’s a discontinued brand, but my favourite is from Jemma Kidd, called Blushwear Creme Cheek Colour in #03 Paw paw.  This was given to me by a friend because it is too light for her – it provides me with the most natural peachy flush that looks effortless.

Favorite drugstore blush?
Easy. Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso. A glowy peach dream! It’s not only a drugstore favourite, but it ranks as one of the best blushes in my collection, and that’s saying a lot.

Favorite high end blush?
This one isn’t as easy. Ugh, I’ll say Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in Starfish (OR308) since it’s one I’ve been enjoying lately – it’s a coral leaning on orange colour. But I’m sure if you ask me in a month, I’ll name something else as my favourite!

Biggest blush disappointment?
It has GOT to be MAC Stereo Rose! I was SO psyched about getting my grubby hands on this and it turned out to be a frosty glittery mess! I bought this in 2010 and I haven’t touched it in ages but yet, I’m reluctant to part with it.

Best blush packaging?
I like compact blushes so the Smashbox Blush Rush are great because they’re really slim and there’s a mirror that swivels out from the bottom:

(they’re also fantastic quality blushes!)
I also have a preference for ROUND blush pans rather than square / rectangular ones.  I just feel like blush brushes fit better into round pans.

What’s on your blush wishlist?
I actually want to try more drugstore ones, especially NYX, Milani and Bourjois. I realized that I have more higher end blushes – for some reason I haven’t ventured much into the drugstore brands.  Here are some that I hope to get eventually:

Holy grail blush?
This is a trick question, isn’t it? Because after I answer this, then you can come to my house and take away all my other blushes, right? 😥
Fine. If I had to choose one that brings tears to my eyes, it has to be MAC Prim & Proper, which was a limited edition from the Liberty of London collection:

It’s fantastic quality and a very versatile colour – MAC’s official shade description is “neutral nude”. I am still bummed that I didn’t buy a back up.  I will devote an entire post on this!

And I’ll add one more question since it’s one that I get often:
Favourite brand for blush?
Tough to definitively name just ONE, so I’ll name 3 that offer, in general, excellent blushes: Cargo, Illamasqua, and MAC.

  1. I barely own any blushes, I think I have two from Tarte, and two from Milani. If I include bronzers, I have one from Tarte, and a sample from Brazen. And two highlighters – one from Essence, and one from Brazen. I plan on getting Milani’s Luminoso soon though, it is so pretty!

  4. I used to hate blush, I think because my aunt did my makeup for a wedding once when I was in HS and I looked CRAY. I was frantically trying to rub blush off my face! But now I love it, Luminoso is probably my most favorite!

  8. Yay! I’m so glad you did this tag! One of my favorite all time blushes is the Milani Luminoso as well. I use that one quite a bit. I also love their Rose Powder blushes. Definitely try those out! 🙂 xo

  11. That Shiseido is aaaaaah so pretty! Love that swivel mirror in the Smashbox. I did not know they did that!

    I have a lot of blushes but honestly, I don’t wear them all that much. I guess I feel like my technique isn’t good enough :p Still, love to have them. LOL!

  13. This is seriously my fav tag of all time. I love blush. Now I can’t believe I haven’t tried the Illamasqua blushes if they make the best matte blushes! I’m also dying to try the pretty flower Milani blushes but they’re not in any of my local drugstores yet.
