This or That Tag Beauty Edition

I saw this on Chic and Polished so I had to do it too!

Makeup

thisorthattag2
Blush or Bronzer: Blush, I just love blush and apply it 99% of the time, whereas I wear bronzer maybe once a month.
Lipgloss or Lipstick: More lipstick nowadays but still more of a balm gal
Eyeliner or Mascara: Mascara, I can survive without liner
Foundation or Concealer: Concealer is just a more concentrated form of foundation so I can use concealer to cover just the areas that need it
Neutral or Colour Eyeshadow: Give me neutral or give me death!
Pressed or Loose eye shadows: Pressed, nobody’s got time for loose
Brushes or Sponges: Brushes although sponges are good for patting on colour for a more intense application

Nails

thisorthattag4
O.P.I or China Glaze: China Glaze.  I own way more CG polishes than OPIs. I really like the formula and colour offering of CG over OPI. Side note, has anyone ever noticed that CG bottles are just upside down OPI bottles?
Long or Short: Short
Acrylic or Natural: Natural, I’ve never had acrylic nails
Brights or Darks: Well if neutrals isn’t an option, then I guess I’ll have to go with darks.
Flower or No Flower: No flower… I don’t do nail art – just not my style

Body

thisorthattag3
Perfume or Body Splash: Perfume – I have good intentions with body splashes but I keep forgetting to use them
Lotion or Body Butter: Depends, body butter in the wintertime but lotion for summer
Body wash or Soap: I use both… soap for the nether regions and body wash for rest of body. For some reason I think body wash doesn’t clean as well? So soap edges body wash I guess if push comes to shove.
LUSH or Other Bath Company: I’m a LUSH noob… I’ve only tried a few items from there, none of which were body products.  I’m mainly a Body Shop gal for body stuff.

Fashion

thisorthattag5
Jeans or Sweat pants: Jeans, my SO says I wear them too much on the weekends
Long sleeve or Short: It really depends on the season but I like short sleeves
Dresses or Skirts: Neither really but skirts are more versatile
Stripes or Plaid: Stripes
Flip flops or Sandals: Flip flops! I own way too many pairs for someone who lives in Canada
Scarves or Hats: Scarves
Studs or Dangly Earrings: I wish I could wear earrings but I’m allergic to everything under the sun. If I do wear earrings they’re usually studs.
Necklaces or Bracelets: Bracelets.  I like the look (I feel bracelets balance my wrists since I wear a watch on the other wrist) but sometimes I get so annoyed with them especially when I’m working at the computer typing, they get in the way so I often end up removing them.
Heels or Flats: Flats
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots: Riding boots
Jacket or Hoodie: Hoodie
Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe: We don’t have Charlotte Russe here so I’ll replace the comparison with Forever 21 or H&M.  I’d say H&M – I find way more wearable clothes at H&M.
Abercrombie or Hollister: *gouges eyes out with a spoon*
Saks 5th or Nordstrom: We’re getting BOTH next year so I will have to report back on how I feel about them

Hair

thisorthattag6
Curly or Straight: Curly / wavy
Bun or Ponytail: Bun (but messy)
Bobby pins or Butterfly clips: Clips
Hair spray or Gel: Spray
Long or Short: Long
Light or Dark: Dark
Side swept bangs or Full bangs: Side
Up or Down: Down

Random

Rain or Shine: Rain
Summer or Winter: Winter
Fall or Spring: Fall
Chocolate or Vanilla: Chocolate
East coast or West coast: neither! Central. 😀

Have you done this tag? I’d love to read your answers! ⭐

  1. I’m the same way with body wash and soap, teehee!

I don’t think I’ve ever set foot in an A&F or a Hollister. *shudder*

And I also like bracelets better, but don’t wear them for the same reason as you. I can do without the clang-clanging against my desk!

  2. China Glaze’s bottle is much rounder than OPI’s, which is more square, not the same upside down! 😛
What HAVE you tried from Lush?
YOU don’t have a Nordstrom, but WE over here in the neglected west coast, do?! What is life. You guys get yours next fall, right? #thattimethewestcoastwon XD

I totally get you on the bracelet thing, when I do wear bracelets, I always get annoyed with them haha.

    1. Yeah OPI and CG are not exactly the same bottles, I just mean that they’re inverted of each other shape-wise. Gosh you’re so literal, Miss med school student. 😉
From Lush, I’ve tried their Mint Julep lip scrub, the Godiva shampoo bar, and the Lust perfume. That’s IT. I am thinking of asking for some stuff from there for Christmas. I’ve been reading lots about those shower jellies and they seem like a fun time! Any recs?
Yeah Nordstroms will be Fall 2016 – can’t wait! Do they carry beauty brands that aren’t at HBC or Holts?

      1. Accuracy is key for my future purposes 😉 hahah

I’ve been considering getting a lip scrub from there for a while…but when I’m actually IN the store, my lips at the time feel like they’re in excellent shape, so I refrain from getting one haha. Did you like the scrub? Yeah I’ve seen the jellies, but haven’t used them, might actually consider it for something out of the usual! I’m not much of a bath person, so I’m really interested in shower specific items form there! I’m not sure what your skin type is like, but mine is fairly dry, so I get attracted to their hydrating/exfoliating products. I like Buffy the Backside Slayer, this was my first ever blog post on here haha https://chicandpolished.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/product-review-lush-buffy-the-backside-slayer/
I also like their Ocean Salt face and body scrub. They came out with a self-preserving formula as well, but I personally prefer the original. Some people find it harsh, but it seriously makes your skin glow and makes it SUUPER soft!

Yeah Nordstrom basically has everything, it’s basically like a combo of Holt, HBC, and Sephora. But Sephora’s prices are cheaper than Nordstrom’s. Like the UD Naked palettes are ~$10 more at Nordstrom than Sephora – and this proves true for other brands as well, BUT Nordstrom is more likely to have sales on popular products, than Sephora.

  3. I’m with you on most of these with regard to makeup. On the others, well, to each her own, right? What brand is that gorgeous flowered blush at the top of your post???
