MUA Sweet Sheen Lip Balms

I received these 3 MUA Sweet Sheen Lip Balms through my UK / Canada swap with Nicola of Beauty As I Know It, back in July:

I had never heard of these but I know of the brand MUA (Makeup Academy).  It’s a pretty popular “high street” (aka drugstore) brand in the UK, and it’s not sold in Canada. I love tinted lip balms so I was excited to try these!

The 3 colours I received are:
♦  French Violet
♦  Peach Dream
♦  Coral Reef

The formula of these remind me of a mix between the L’Oreal Colour Riche Caresse or Clarins Rouge Eclat, but slightly sheerer.  They have a candy scent which I love.

French Violet is a mid toned orchid shade.

Peach Dream is a milky peach.

Coral Reef is a bright pink toned coral.

Surprisingly, my favourite of the 3 colours is French Violet! I don’t normally gravitate toward purple shades but this shade is really flattering on my skin tone (NC20).  They’re super easy to apply (look Ma, no mirror!) and feel quite moisturizing on the lips.  Wear-time isn’t too long (~1 hr) but they fade evenly and don’t leave any weird ring around the lips.

I’m so happy I received these from Nicola.  Thank you again! 😀 ❤

  1. French Violet! I had a d/s lippie that was very similar to this, maybe a touch plummier, that I loved! Of course I’ve never seen the brand again, but it was one of the only sheer lipsticks I liked. These look so pretty. We need to get SDM to start carrying these UK brands!

  2. All of these colours are so nice! They even LOOK like they’d feel good on the lips, bonus points. After constantly binge-watching UK Youtubers….so much stuff there that we don’t have! Then again, there are things here that they don’t have, but I always feel like their ‘high street’ items are way better than what drugstores in Canada have, Canada cheaps out!
