Sephora VIB $20 off $50

Like clockwork this offer dropped in my inbox on Tuesday. I guess Sephora is pretty regimented in their annual offers – unless they want customers to revolt!  I offered my Sephora VIB coupon to my coworker who wanted to buy some Christmas presents so we went off to the mall on Friday to shop and this is what she bought:

Marc Jacobs Decadence (will you just look at the bottle? It’s like a purse! I love it.)

Calvin Klein Reveal
sephoraVIBNov62015
Maison Martin Margiela “Replica” Jazz Club (Yup, she wanted this too, after sampling it when I picked it up for another friend.)

Acqua Di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia (lotion – this was a present for herself, she’s addicted to this, it smells like vanilla and almonds!)

Perfumes are pricey!   She was quite pleased with getting $20 off.  And I got a “gift” for myself by redeeming another 500 points for a Josie Maran kit!  I’ll post a more detailed review on the 500 point perks I’ve gotten recently.

And… you’re going to laugh, but I MADE VIB ROUGE! 😆
Sephora-VIB-Rouge
I can’t believe it! The year that I go on a No-Buy is the year that I end up “spending” over $1k at Sephora.  At the last girls’ night, we were strategizing that we should pool all our Sephora purchases onto one account so we can reach VIB Rouge status. Well, it looks like it’s happened!  Thanks to all my friends who placed their Sephora orders through me. 😀 VIB Rouge “perks”, here I come! 😛

What did you use your coupon for?

  1. Congrats on VIB Rouge status! I’m just a regular VIB still. Your idea is such a great way to get the VIB status!
I ordered an eyebrow pencil to try out (since my HG one is too pricy with the exchange rate), and a facial cleanser that I plan on blogging about once they arrive and I get a chance to try them out. I wanted to try the May Coop Raw Sauce Toning Essence but it was out of stock and of course 48 hours AFTER I placed my order it is back in stock.

    1. Which eyebrow pencil did you order to try out? I’m getting low on my HG (Shu Uemura H9 pencil) and I’m not sure if I’ll keep repurchasing it or test out new ones.
Oh man, I swear Sephora purposely put certain things out of stock during VIB sales!

  2. Congrats on reaching VIB Rouge!! I’m no where near any status with Sephora lol. I actually don’t shop there often. I usually shop Ulta or directly from the makeup company’s website. I guess I should try to more often. Though I’m on a low buy right now and am only trying to purchase what I “need.” Like if I run out of mascara then I will replace it. I am interested in seeing how my blogging goes with not purchasing many new items. I think it will get me to be more creative hopefully. 🙂

    1. I would shop at Ulta if only they would come to Canada! I’ve only visited one Ulta in my life (Chicago) and I was won over! It’s such an amazing store! Do they have points program at Ulta too?
I think it’s a great challenge to go on a low-buy and be creative with your blogging! 😀

      1. Yes Ulta does have a points program though I still am not exactly sure how it works lol. I just feel like going into Ulta is more laid back and if I were to go into Sephora I would need to be all dressed up or something? Is that weird? lol.
But yeah it will definitely be a challenge coming up with different kinds of posts other than reviews. Though I do have some newer palettes that I’ve been holding onto that I want to review along with a new one that my bf bought me for Christmas lol. 😀

  3. Congrats on your VIB Rouge Status! 🙂 I mad VIB Rouge last year and was completely horrified. This year I’m not even going to make regular VIB status I don’t think which is kind of a bummer.
I bought one of the new Buxom lipsticks and a trio of MUFE eyeshadow with my coupon.

      1. It really is a scam. I mean, what on earth do you actually get out of it?
I got a cream color (I think it was called vanilla), a caramel color (Canyon) and a deep red (Morello Cherry).
I like the shades you chose for your trio! Do you get a lot of use out of yours? I’m loving the look and feel of the packaging as well. I’m also loving your Christmas logo! 🙂

        1. There was a total learning curve for me with those MUFE eye shadows. I find that if I pat them on rather than side to side swiping, the colour pay off was better. They really are one of the longest wearing shadows I’ve ever tried. I have so many eye shadow, I can’t say with a straight face that I get a LOT of use out of any of my eye shadows… lol. I remember to use it maybe about twice a month? I need to show love for all my makeup lol.

  4. Congrats on Rouge! I have noticed that since I hit rouge I place a lot more orders online so I can get free samples, now I have a sample box overflowing! I have a few friends at work that get me to pick them up things so I hit it with a little help from my friends! I used my coupon on my sisters Christmas gift.

  5. LOL awesome, congrats on getting to Rouge! Especially considering you didn’t technically buy anything there this year! I don’t know how some ladies can reach that status without pooling purchases with other people – I find it hard to reach even VIB most years!

  6. I just hit VIB today (first time in years). And of course also today I got a $15 off $50 coupon in my email. DOH! I got a $25 JC Penny gift card I won coming in my email any day now & I can use it at the Sephora inside there. So pair that with the $15 coupon and I’m going to treat myself to something really nice.

  7. The point system here is so different. We can only go as far as the Black Card which doesn’t really require massive amount of purchase(s). There’s no point collection for exchange of gift. Our point collection only entitles us to an additional 10% discount…

      1. Owh, we can’t just get samples for free… That’s not how things work around here. You can just test out the testers in the store but Sephora or even makeup boutiques don’t hand out free trial samples here. And there’s a very strict no-return policy here. If you are not satisfied with something the only way you can return the item is if it is still unopened, untouched and still in its packaging. Even then, you can only return for exchange of something of equal or lesser value.

  8. It’s HILARIOUS that you made VIB Rouge on your no-buy year 😛 You are so good to have give your 25$ to a coworker !!! I don’t know what to get with mine; any suggestions that is not nail polishes, lip products, foundations, powders, primers or eyebrows stuff related ??? 😉

      1. Skincare is not exciting! 😂 I have face primers for a whole village !😜 I have the damn Bonbons palette in my cart !!! 😁 On our low buy, how much are we spending per month (Oh! man, I do have a problem – restriction is a must) ???😭

          1. I was thinking 200$ too, but is it really a low buy ?!? I think I will go with 100$ 😛 YOU should buy the Viseart neutral matte palette, since you don’t have a lot of palette !!! I’m sure it’s the greatest palette ever, but at 100$, I can’t justify the $$$ with my current stash 😦
BTW , how is the Smashbox Double Exposure ???

            Liked by 1 person

            1. I haven’t tried the Smashbox Double Exposure palette yet! I’m waiting for a special day to use it lol… maybe this Friday, we’re having an office party. 😛
I’m thinking for my low-buy, I’ll do $100 between Feb to August and then increase it to $200 for rest of the year. You just can’t survive through Fall and Holiday season on $100 per month! I’m being realistic here…

                  1. Perfect I’ll look from a distance and laught at your January post rightfully title : “My Sephora, Shoppers, The Bay , MAC … gigantic, humungous , crazy, biggest haul ever …” signed Stash Doesn’t Matters anymore 😛

      1. Special hotline (which I’ve never used), unlimited makeovers in store, classes (which aren’t offered in Canada), extra birthday gift, salespeople being nicer to you at the checkout and offering you even more samples, private events that are kind of fun, and the red lipstick you get as a gift when you qualify. 90% of my skincare and base makeup (foundation, mascara, and blush) comes from there and I have two beauty junkie best friends so their birthday/Christmas gifts come from there, so I’ve been Rouge for the past few years. It’s nice, but I would also guess it’s not really that different from being VIB, with this exception of the free shipping.

  9. I love that you made Rouge after a no-buy year! LOL! Nice gifts for everyone, though. And you get free shipping for your can-buy 2016!!

I LOVE that MJ perfume bottle, and was so psyched to try it – but I didn’t like it 😦 Boo. Guess I should have known as I’ve never really been a fan of any MJ fragrances.

Acqua di Parma everything is amazing! I still rue the time I was in an Italian pharmacy and didn’t buy Colonia. I guess I can buy it here, but it’s not the same (and probably more expensive)!

    1. I’d never heard of Acqua di Parma before but the Mandorlo di Sicilia smells SO amazing. I was tempted myself… it’s so expensive, yes!
It’s hilarious that I made Rouge this year of all years!
