Blogmas Day 23: Gifts to myself – Sephora VIB 500 pt perks

I’m a hoarder of Sephora points. Their 100 pt perks are often laughable, and even their 500 pt perks are often not worth it. But recently I came across two 500 pt perks that I felt were worthwhile to finally redeem my points for:

Urban Decay Urban Vices, and Josie Maran Josie’s Best and Brightest Argan Oil Essentials. I redeemed for the UD during the VIB 20% off sale, and the Josie Maran was during the VIB coupon sale.

It’s quite a lot of packaging to hold the little palette.  The single-use Primer is located on the top of the palette sleeve (which I have to remember not to toss out!)

I’ve used the UD eye shadows once and they were nice – although I did find the colours to fade a bit through the day (even over primer and MAC Paint Pot). The Josie Maran highlighter is really pretty but it may be too dark for some skin tones to act as a highlight – so far it’s my favourite item out of these 2 kits. I’ve had the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil before and it’s great – I haven’t tried the Argan Milk serum or lip & cheek oil yet but I’m excited to!

It was nice to get these little “gifts” for myself for free!  Have you redeemed for any Sephora perks lately?

  5. I was so close to using my points on the UD set they had up but then I was like nah, I have so much UD shadows I took a pass. The Josie Maran set is very nice I got a similar set last year that came with the argon oil and the lip and cheek cream. I have to agree with you, Sephora has some crappy picks for their points lately. The only time I thought the points were worth using was for the bite beauty lipstick & lipgloss set for the 250 points. I just recently used a 100 point for the Clarins sunscreen, I figured that’s not too bad. It’s slightly larger than the super goop sunscreen deluxe sample. I’m going to save the Clarins for the spring and see how I like it. I still have about 800 points to blow. I keep hoping Sephora puts up something awesome. Sigh. Enjoy your new goodies! 🙂

  6. Sephora doesn’t have the best gifts. Hopefully y’all will get Ulta soon cause with their point system you can save up to get money off (2k points = $125 store credit). It reminds me of your drugstore, actually cause sometimes they have deals where you can get 5-10x the points on certain purchases. Anyways good for you for holding out, you got good rewards. Derailed is totally a you color but gimme some of that Hoodoo! Hehe 🙂

    1. I WANT ULTA SO BAD!!! I would shop the heck out of that store and get those points.
      I wore UD Hoodoo with Derailed and it was a pretty look – a bit too cool toned but it’s RIGHT up your alley!

  9. Oooh good choices, the swatches look awesome! The swatches of the UD palette are beautiful – Derailed looks like a beauty.
    Lucky for you that you have so many friends who want to use your card for discounts! All of my friends want the points for themselves >__> Hahaha

      1. Yes, Ici Paris XL and Planet Parfum are kind of Sephoras but with less brands, my favourite is Cosmeticary because they are the only one to have Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown,… And of course Di which is more or less like Boots in England but smaller and with drugstore brands only 🙂
