Today is Boxing Day in Canada, which is our version of “Black Friday”. We get this day off work as a holiday too (I only recently found out that this is not the case in other countries!). Since Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year, we get this coming Monday off instead – I also took Tuesday off since I have some leftover vacation days. This means… extra long weekend and SHOPPING! 😀
Boxing Day is great because you can use all those gift certificates you’ve received for Christmas and get things at drastically discounted prices – maximizing the value of those gift cards! Most stores will not allow for Christmas gift returns or exchanges on Boxing Day because the stores are so busy, so keep that in mind.
I’m really tempted to go have a look at the Sephora clearance sales but I’m *so* close to the end of my No-Buy… on one hand, I’ve been good all year, on the other hand, I’m been GOOD ALL YEAR, so I can allow myself… right? 😉 BUT, I won’t! My No-Buy ends on December 31st… so only another 5 days, or 120 hours, or 7200 minutes to go…
Hope you had a marvalous Christmas – have fun shopping the Boxing Day / Week / Month deals! 😀
I want Boxing Day!!! It sounds SO much more exciting than Black Friday. I don’t participate in Black Friday shopping, it’s just too stressful for me.

Haha Boxing Day is pretty crazy too but think tamer than Black Friday! I do really like the idea of Black Friday since people get to shop for Christmas gifts at discounted prices, whereas Boxing Day is more for getting Christmas-themed stuff (like decorations, wrapping paper) for NEXT Christmas!

I legit used to think Boxing Day was a day where you guys watched people beat the shit out of each-other. An English friend finally explained it to me. LOL. Sorry you’re missing out on the after Christmas sales BUT I’m sure there will still be quite a bit left come the 1st!

lol that’s funny. Us good natured Canadians wouldn’t beat each other up! 😛
Yes, I’m pretty sure there will be plenty of deals to be had in 5 days… just the excitement of it all!

New Zealand celebrates Boxing Day instead of Black Friday as well. Myself and my brother went and did some shopping yesterday 🙂 Congratulations on being so close to the end of your no buy, is there anything you’ve got your eye on for when it ends?

What deals did you score on Boxing Day?
I’m eyeing stuff from Becca, Burberry and Nars!

I didn’t buy much but I’m really pleased with everything I got! My favourite thing I purchased is probably a new handbag, I’d been after a black one for ages and I finally found one I liked 🙂

Don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything in the Sephora Boxing Day sale, there was a pretty crappy selection!
We went shopping on Saturday and it was so frigging hard not buying anything…all my money needs to be saved up for the wedding *sigh*
There is a video circulating of two guys having a fist fight over a parking space in a Toronto mall parking lot on Boxing Day…gives a whole new meaning to the term Boxing Day 😛

Yay! Nearly at the end of your No Buy!!
I used to be at the shopping centres at 7am for Boxing Day shopping before but gave it a miss this year.

I am thinking of doing the “No Buy” thing again as I did one early this year and it was def. hard at first as I admit I have a shopping addiction for sure! ☺️ It was just for a month and I couldn’t wait for it to end. But I’m really gonna think about it again and see how it goes! Great job for holding tight!👍🏻👏🏻

In the UK we have Boxing Day off and the sales start then too. People have gone mad for Black Friday the last few years too x

It sounds similar to Canada. We used to only have Boxing Day sales but the past few years the Black Friday sales have started. I don’t mind having TWO days of deals! 😛

Haha me neither! The Boxing Day sales in the UK this year is poor. There was better deals leading to Christmas☺ x
