Swap with A Girl With Pink Cheeks!

I received this parcel just before Christmas.  It was my second ever makeup swap, this time with the lovely Isabelle from A Girl With Pink Cheeks blog!  We started chatting about doing this swap after my last one – and so, back in July, we formulated the swap guidelines: We buy each other one thing under 10€ / $15 CAD each month for 4 months (August to November), and mail out in time for Christmas. We wanted to focus on brands / products not available in our native countries – Isabelle lives in Belgium and I’m in Canada.  I’d indicated that I was most interested in eye shadows, blush, and concealers.  This is what she sent me:

I tried the Cuberdon and they remind me of a candy I ate as a child! Yummy!

I’ve never had the pleasure of trying Kiko cosmetics before and now I have SO many items!  I’m so excited to try everything! 😀 Thank you Isabelle for your thoughtfulness and generosity! 🙂  Click here to see what I sent to Isabelle.

Have you tried any of these products? I’ll be doing swatches / reviews once I get a chance to use them!

    1. They are, aren’t they? And from everything I’ve read about Kiko, the brand is super affordable. Our affordable brands don’t offer anything nearly at this level! I think our equivalent would be Lise Watier and that’s not cheap – their lipsticks are more expensive than MAC.

      1. Yes, Lise Watier is definitely not drugstore priced! Sad that we don’t have an equivalent in both price AND product. I’ve heard wonderful things about Kiko too – guess I’ll have to wait till I travel across the pond to snag some of their products.

      1. No, I think it’s not cheating… but maybe I’m biased because I wouldn’t have been able to stare at your parcel for 2 weeks without opening it :p

    1. I have a few Korres makeup products and they’re fantastic! My friend visited Greece and brought me back a bunch of stuff. I don’t have any Korres eye shadows though so I’m very excited to try them. 😀
You could offer me your unused eye shadow palettes LOL! 😛

      1. I have so many Korres products but I haven’t try their eyeshadows either. What’s the verdict?
I could easily send you my NEVER used eye shadow palettes 😛 (I have backups of my 2 favorite Laura Mercier palettes !!! I know I’m so weird & compulsive :D)

        1. Haha a backup PALETTE? Even me, the backup queen, does not have a back up palette! Which LM one is it? I am curious!!!
I haven’t tried the Korres eye shadow yet. In fact, I’ve not tried ANY of these swap items yet… (except to eat some candies) I am always waiting for the “right” moment. I promise to try them soon… 😉

                1. The Becca Nude one is probably what I’m more drawn to.
Yes, I’ve heard wonderful things about LM’s Artist Palettes… but I just got the Smashbox palette, I don’t need another one for now! 😛

  1. I’ve always wanted to try KIKO since I’ve heard many good things about it. The eyeshadow palette looks so pretty and pigmented. I love reading your swap post. Sounds fun and you’re loving all the goodies you got. I can’t wait to see the color swatches and review .

    1. It’s such a tease when we hear about the great things about brands we can’t get here, right?! I think Kiko would do really well in North America – similar to Inglot or Essence – both European brands that have done well here. Yes, I’ll be doing swatches and follow up posts once I get a chance to play with everything! 😀

  2. Wow she did a great job of picking out “you” stuff! I’m really jealous/drooling over the chocolate right now, though. And, shocker, I’m loving that eyeshadow quad 😉

      1. Yes I would!! 😀 we don’t have any local brands but I could get some stuff that maybe isn’t so easily accessible for u cos of shipping etc? Let me know if you’d want to look into this further 😉 I’m up for it, seems fun ;D
