I received this parcel just before Christmas. It was my second ever makeup swap, this time with the lovely Isabelle from A Girl With Pink Cheeks blog! We started chatting about doing this swap after my last one – and so, back in July, we formulated the swap guidelines: We buy each other one thing under 10€ / $15 CAD each month for 4 months (August to November), and mail out in time for Christmas. We wanted to focus on brands / products not available in our native countries – Isabelle lives in Belgium and I’m in Canada. I’d indicated that I was most interested in eye shadows, blush, and concealers. This is what she sent me:
Here’s everything unwrapped:
I’ve been completely spoiled! 😀
Here are more close up shots of the pretties:
Kiko Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette in Coral Burgundy
Kiko Moon Dust Face Powder in Fairy Mauve
Kiko Shade Fusion Trio Blush in 05 Marsala
Korres Eyeshadow in 31 Bronze Brown
Etam Kiss Me Forever Lip Ink in 06 Rose Aphrodite
Etam Perfumed Body Sorbet (bamboo, jasmine, lotus, lemon and green apple)
And of course, some sweets:
I tried the Cuberdon and they remind me of a candy I ate as a child! Yummy!
I’ve never had the pleasure of trying Kiko cosmetics before and now I have SO many items! I’m so excited to try everything! 😀 Thank you Isabelle for your thoughtfulness and generosity! 🙂 Click here to see what I sent to Isabelle.
Have you tried any of these products? I’ll be doing swatches / reviews once I get a chance to use them!
Amazing idea!! That colour of the Kiko Moon Dust powder is to die for, beaut!!

What an awesome idea! I freaking LOVE Kiko. Each time I go to Europe, it’s one of my first stops. The prices are amazing and the products are such great quality. Well done! Happy New Year!

I can’t believe how awesome they look – why don’t we have this brand here?!!! Now I get all the hype. Like why are we paying $30 for a Maybelline palette – utter BS.

You’ve been so spoiled!! Those Kiko products are all in to die for shades, that eyeshadow quad :O :O I hope you enjoy the products!!

I know, she went above and beyond. It was tough to keep in the monthly amounts and I went over but oh well. I wish Kiko was available here!

What a lovely package she put together for you 🙂
Holy moly, are those Kiko products beautiful! The quad and moon dust powder are absolutely dreamy, haha.

They are, aren’t they? And from everything I’ve read about Kiko, the brand is super affordable. Our affordable brands don’t offer anything nearly at this level! I think our equivalent would be Lise Watier and that’s not cheap – their lipsticks are more expensive than MAC.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, Lise Watier is definitely not drugstore priced! Sad that we don’t have an equivalent in both price AND product. I’ve heard wonderful things about Kiko too – guess I’ll have to wait till I travel across the pond to snag some of their products.

No, I think it’s not cheating… but maybe I’m biased because I wouldn’t have been able to stare at your parcel for 2 weeks without opening it :p

I heard that Korres made great eyeshadows. Indeed, you were very spoiled my dear 😀
I wonder what I could offer you in a swap !!! 😛

I have a few Korres makeup products and they’re fantastic! My friend visited Greece and brought me back a bunch of stuff. I don’t have any Korres eye shadows though so I’m very excited to try them. 😀
You could offer me your unused eye shadow palettes LOL! 😛

I have so many Korres products but I haven’t try their eyeshadows either. What’s the verdict?
I could easily send you my NEVER used eye shadow palettes 😛 (I have backups of my 2 favorite Laura Mercier palettes !!! I know I’m so weird & compulsive :D)

Haha a backup PALETTE? Even me, the backup queen, does not have a back up palette! Which LM one is it? I am curious!!!
I haven’t tried the Korres eye shadow yet. In fact, I’ve not tried ANY of these swap items yet… (except to eat some candies) I am always waiting for the “right” moment. I promise to try them soon… 😉

I have the Laura Mercier Limited Edition of The Nude & The Smokey eye palettes !!! The Nude is probably right there in my lifetime top 2 palettes 🙂 ( Buff, Fresco, Bamboo, Cocoa Brown & Ground Espresso are the colors included) !!!
Yay! That damn “right”moment LOL 😛

Maybe the Nude one but surely not Ombre Rouge !!! Dare I say that the quality of the LM eyeshadows is a little better than Becca’s 😀
You should consider this one:

The Becca Nude one is probably what I’m more drawn to.
Yes, I’ve heard wonderful things about LM’s Artist Palettes… but I just got the Smashbox palette, I don’t need another one for now! 😛

Yes swaps are a great way to try brands you normally don’t have easy access to! I swapped with a UK blogger as my first swap and it was great. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to try KIKO since I’ve heard many good things about it. The eyeshadow palette looks so pretty and pigmented. I love reading your swap post. Sounds fun and you’re loving all the goodies you got. I can’t wait to see the color swatches and review .

It’s such a tease when we hear about the great things about brands we can’t get here, right?! I think Kiko would do really well in North America – similar to Inglot or Essence – both European brands that have done well here. Yes, I’ll be doing swatches and follow up posts once I get a chance to play with everything! 😀

That’s Right! Wish KIKO has a store here. Maybe time will tell! lol! OK, noted.

Wow she did a great job of picking out “you” stuff! I’m really jealous/drooling over the chocolate right now, though. And, shocker, I’m loving that eyeshadow quad 😉

She really had me nailed down huh! She could be a personal shopper for makeup, I think! 😀
You and eye shadow palettes, is it time for an intervention?

No, I think that’s my niche. No intervention required 😉
