Sephora VIB Sale April 2016 Haul

Calling this a “haul” is kind of a stretch, but humour me. I only bought 4 items!
SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_2
My total came to $83.30 which is pretty low considering all of the anticipation for the VIB sale! I got:

SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_4
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard (reg $36, sale price $30.60)

SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_6
BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Natural (reg $30, sale price $25.50)

SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_7
Tarte Tartelette Tease (reg $25, sale price $21.25)

SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_5
Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow in #74 Walking In The Sand reg $13, this particular shade was on clearance for $7, then with the VIB sale discount, it came to $5.95
On my original shopping list, I was going to get the Sephora Luminizing drops but I worried it might be too blingy. Then I tried to think of another Sephora branded item I might want, so I looked in my stash. I found my 6 pan customizable Sephora eye shadow palette, which had one lone empty slot. 😮  You know what had to be done! This highlighting shade is the perfect complement  in that palette which consists of matte and shimmer neutrals but all in medium to dark tones.

Essentially, I stuck to my shopping list on the 100% likelihood will buy and didn’t buy any of the “maybe” lists. 🙂  I did also order a couple of items on behalf of friends:
• Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz
• Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector – hehe, this was a direct influence due to my review on this. 😆 #sorrynotsorry

I chose these 3 as my samples:
• MURAD Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture
• OMOROVICZA Thermal Cleansing Balm
• DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel

And now here’s a little rant! My Omorovicza sample was missing out of my order. The delivery person accidentally delivered my parcel to another suite in my condo. And that person opened up my Sephora order like it was theirs. When I received the box, it had been opened with a note that said the box was delivered to them in error. Well geez, if I accidentally received a parcel of stuff I didn’t order, I wouldn’t open the damn box! I was really looking forward to that Omorovicza cleansing balm sample, which at the prices Omorovicza charges, has a value of over $5 (I did the math!) I have no proof they swiped it but I’m going to blame them. 👿 I know which suite it was too.

So what did you get during VIB sale? Did you stick to your original shopping list, or did you go crazy? 😛

    1. I think the Spring VIB sale people don’t typically buy as much and then we all lose our minds come Autumn time and haul majorly during that VIB sale (plus, it’s 5% more discount). I’ve never tried SK-II skincare – so luxurious! And worth getting it at discounted price!

  1. You will see my VIB Sale haul on tomorrow’s post !!! All I can say is that you did better than me 😛
I seriously think that the sample was most likely missing from your parcel, it happens to me so often than there is 2 samples instead of 3 ! Why kept one sample and not the whole package ?!!! 😀
    Let’s blame them anyway … bastards …📦 😂🔫🔪💣

    1. I know I know, common sense tells me they didn’t take it and likely Sephora didn’t give me the sample, but it made me feel better to blame them. I mostly just didn’t think it was cool of them to open my parcel!!!
Can’t wait to see your “haul” – have we lost our makeup mojo?! 😮

  2. OMG haha sorry about the cleanser! I agree though. If I get a parcel and I know I didn’t order anything I check the name first. What a butthole! At least they brought you your order instead of keeping (all of) it.

  3. That’s a super haul for $83! Wow. And argh that sucks about the sample you are missing…I can’t believe that person opened your box. (I suppose the only excuse would be if they had a Sephora order arriving, too…but still…) I’m wondering if I’ve missed a Sephora sample before…maybe once?

    The Tarte palette is adorable!

    1. I’m willing to bet $10 they weren’t expecting a Sephora order! grrr.
I bought the Tartelette palette with the intention of possibly taking it with me to Japan but I’ll test it out first.

  4. Totally sucks about your sample! I did do some hauling – but not sure I’ll get around to actually posting it. Lol. Will probably just talk about some of gone products over time as I use them. There were things on my list that I didn’t get – otherwise it would have really gotten out of control. 🙂

    1. I think earlier in the year we’re all slightly disciplined but come Fall time and when the discount if 20%, we all lose our minds a little! 😆 Looking forward to seeing your upcoming reviews!

  5. In the end with my order I didn’t qualify for the discount because I was in the UK, even though it said no where on the site that that was the case but spoke to CServices and it’s ‘due to customs’ not sure why that has to be an issue – even if you pay full customs on the product, but get 10% off the price I would have been slightly happier!

Well done on staying restrained, that sephora eyeshadow palette looks really pretty, I’ve not spotted those before! As does that tarte palette, that top middle shade looks right up my street, shame our selection of tarte here is so crap we’re limited to what’s on QVC and its about a 10th of the range in Sephora… I can see another order brewing for that palette!

God damn your sneaky neighbour, go round and demand it back! The samples I could select were rubbish, there was only 2 there that could be shipped to the UK… so I couldn’t get the full 3 samples either – not only that they swapped one of my samples to another sample! Sephora Sample Drama all round!

    1. Oh that’s awful the discount didn’t apply to UK orders especially if they sent you the code!
That sucks that Sephora swapped out your sample – that’s happened to me before, I guess they ran out of what I originally selected and put in whatever they wanted. Ugh. LAME!
I’ll do swatches and a review of that Tarte palette once I’ve had a chance to play around with it!

    2. Also, the Sephora eye shadow and customizable palettes are awesome – they are all sold in individual pans that you can pop out and put into the Sephora empty palettes (which comes in a 3 pan or a 6 pan). There was an offer if you buy 2 or more eye shadows, they give you the palette for free:
      http://www.sephora.com/colorful-eyeshadow-shimmer-P377296
The quality of the shadows are overall very good – they’re made in Italy and are a whopping 2.2g pan! I’ll do swatches of my collection of them one of these days. I have 9 of them. I plan on getting 3 more to fill an empty 3 pan that I got for free.

  6. Someone else opened your parcel?! What?
I’d go back to them to them and ask for the sample back. I think it’s more likely than not that this person took it – considering it was ‘only’ a sample. I can picture them rummaging through the stuff and thinking ‘oh, this looks nice… I’ll keep it – who’d miss a sample…”

    Like

    1. That was my thought too! They didn’t take a big item because it’d be obvious, but a little item, nah they won’t miss it. Grrr. I’m not confrontational so I’m not going to press the issue.

  7. They probably opened the box without looking to see who it was from or who it was addressed to. Idiot.

My Sephora order came yesterday. You’ll see what I got tomorrow. I’ll have a collective haul post up (also sharing some recent drugstore purchases & what I got with my latest Ulta 20% off coupon).

    1. Who doesn’t check their mail? Dumbasses!
I’m looking forward to seeing what you got from your NON-Sephora sources – I’m always jealous of the deals Ulta or Walgreens / Target / CVS offer!

  8. I love your haul! Seems like you got staples… the Tartelette Tease palette would be good for traveling!
I have to admit that I bought the Becca corrector instead of the UD one because of you! Question: is the texture of yours very sticky?
I hope the person in the other suite didn’t actually take your sample (would be a really weird thing to take…), although the fact that they even opened your package is questionable! Like if you aren’t expecting a package from Sephora, then don’t go opening it! 😠

    1. I wouldn’t call the Becca sticky. It’s more of a creamy emollient texture. How I use it is I apply a thin layer onto moisturized skin, I don’t blend, I just smooth it on. Then I apply a layer of my under eye concealer but I don’t blend that either. I let both sit / dry out a bit (maybe 30 secs to a minute) then I blend with my ring finger or blender sponge or buffing brush. This works for me!
Yeah no clue why someone would open a parcel not addressed to them.

      1. Hmm, I’ll have to try that. I’ve been letting it sit before applying concealer, but it feels like it’s not settling into my skin because it’s so creamy. I found that the liner from my upper lashline was transferring onto my undereyes because of it, so today I packed on the setting powder and now it looks cakey. Just can’t win! haha. I’ll make it work!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I hope you find a way to make it work! I do use a matte face powder (the discontinued Maybelline Dream Matte) along my lash line to prevent transfer but I’ve been doing for years.

  9. No Sephora shopping for me. I’m planning to shop only next month to get their free birthday gift. I’m biting my fingers since I’ve to restrain myself from shopping too much on beauty products. I still have some Lise Watier haul I haven’t touch yet.

  10. I stuck to some of the items but the Tarte blush did not work for me at all so I had to return it. I didn’t go overboard either because I just didn’t see much need for a lot. Love the Nars concealer! 😃

  11. Ok great mini haul, but lets talk about the neighboors. Who randomly opens a parcel delivered for a different adress? That is just crazy, it clearly doesn’t have your name on it… And so irritating they grabbed your Omorovicza sample, that balm is lovely!

    1. I know right! Who opens a package not addressed to them! It clearly had my suite # and my name on the box! And I wanted to try that Omorovicza product because of your rave reviews about them! I would never pay for a full size product but it was my chance to try it, and now I can’t *cries*

      1. Same here, those products are so expensive I am not sure I could ever part with my cash for them. Jumped at opportunity of a GWP myself.
Still absolutely unbelieveable someone opened it…

  12. First of all, I am VERY impressed with your restraint 🙂
2ndly… I can’t believe some else opened your pkg… hello! it’s clearly NOT their name/suite# on the pkg. What disgusting behaviour!!! people are sometimes really gross :S

  13. I skipped the sale this time around .. I’m saving for the one in the fall!:P oh gosh .. my stuff have been delivered to my neighbors many many times. Even though they clearly know they didn’t order stuff especially the places I order things from they Still Open my packages!!!!😤 they rummage through it like savages and then bring it and say it was delivered by accident .. well shit why open it then! They are the worst neighbors ever .. dirty dingy people 😡 there was a time when they would tell the mail man to leave my packages at their house since I would never be home I had school 24/7 omg I hated it!!! I had to tell my mail man not to do that ever -.- rant over lol .. it’s just such a peeve !! I feel your anger lol. Anywho great products ! Did u try the nars concealer yet !? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the tarte palette!:D

    1. Yeah I’ve kept the majority of my wish list to buy in the Fall one since it’s a better discount.
OMG that’s awful your neighbours rummage through your parcels!!! And the nerve of them to tell the mail man to deliver to them – none of their damn business! Have you actually had stuff go missing? I haven’t tried the Nars concealer yet – will do it this weekend! I don’t like trying new stuff on my face during the work week in case my face blows up lol.

      1. Smart lol very smart !!! I’m guilty of trying new products asap lol 😛 yesss I have had gone missing and it sucks ..my mom more than anything though.. but I’m glad it hasn’t happened in a good while it used to happen alot years back but we have a new mailman and he always leaves my packages on my porch 😀

  14. Thats some really nice stash you’ve got, and well done that you stuck to your shopping list. I’m really abd at that and Sephora hauls always result in a bunch of overpriced travel-sized items, which I don’t really need:) Shame on that person opening your Sephora box, and even worse, probably took your sample:/

    1. I never used to go shopping armed with a shopping list but ever since I started doing that, I get less impulsive with my shopping and end up with less items I dislike. Sometimes it’s still nice to splurge though!

  15. I can’t believe your neighbor opened your package! That’s ballsy! Once we had a package delivered to our address but with no name on it – inside was an engagement ring! Lucky for them I’m an honest person and returned it to them!

Love your haul! At some point I will get my hands on that Bite Beauty Lip Mask! I assume the Nars concealer is a re-purchase? I keep meaning to give that a trt.

    1. Oh WOW, what a find! I hope it found its way to the rightful recipient!
No, the Nars concealer isn’t a repurchase for me – I’ve never tried it before! I’d been waiting and finally decided to get it after hating the UD one. I still haven’t opened the Nars but maybe I will tomorrow.
