China Glaze Hot Flash

I’m in a bit of a nail polish rut – can you believe that last week I only wore Orly Nailtrition on my nails and called it a day? No nail polish for a whole week! 😮 This polish is the one I wore this during my cruise vacation as my pedicure. In fact, these photos were taken before I went on vacation… 😛

For my trip, I was looking for a bright shade and China Glaze Hot Flash certainly delivered!

I picked this up back in May from Winners – this was part of the Lite Bright collection that I was so excited for.  I was happy to have found this, along with a few others from the collection including Let’s Jam. China Glaze describes this shade as:

Brace yourself, a heat wave is upon us and oh man is it a scorcher!
Smokin hot crimson shimmer brings the fire non-stop.

It’s really bright red that I had trouble photographing – it keeps showing up as coral. I’ve colour-corrected as much as I can in these photos.

The polish applies perfectly – it has a slightly jelly formula and it’s passable with just one coat.

Unlike most neon polishes, it’s quite shiny even without a top coat.

There’s no wear shot since I wore this on my toes and this blog is strictly a NO FEET zone! >:D So you’ll have to take my word when I say it wore well for 2 full weeks.

This photo captures the red colour best.

Random object today is this ball of twine I found in my junk drawer:

The placement of my watermark kind of looks like I got my wrist tattooed with “stashmatters” 😆

Why do we even have twine? I don’t recall the last time I used twine.

I only swatched this polish for photos and then promptly removed it and applied Essie Pinned Up as my manicure for the trip. 😛

China Glaze Hot Flash is probably not a colour I’d wear on my nails but it’s fabulous for the toes! What are your favourite polishes to wear on the toes?

  1. Wowza, this is bright! I used to wear shades like this on my nails, but haven’t for a few years now. This is definitely a fantastic toe colour, though (what, you didn’t want a picture of your feet shown on the internet?!)
I only wear two colours on my toes – true red and magenta…boring, I know! I imagine any varying shade of red/pink/coral would be okay, though…I tried blue once and thought it made my feet look dirty, lol!

    1. Haha I don’t hate feet per se but I don’t want to oogle at pictures of them. I’ll never understand people who have foot fetishes! ;o
I love red on toes – it’s so chic! I am not adventurous on my manicures but, for pedicures, I’ll pretty much wear anything BUT neutrals!

  2. I have also not painted my nails in a while, I just can’t be arsed with it at the moment I don’t know why!
I’m not normally a red fan, but I think it’s corally neonesque qualities make me like it – but I never reach for reds at all especially for my fingers, I had red gels around Christmas time, but its just never the colour I gravitate towards!

    1. I got lazy post-vacation, that’s my excuse. I miss it though so this week I’m back with painted nails! I’ll post it soon…
Reds are my go to after neutrals – I find red nails so classy, especially red cremes!

  3. Heyyyy that’s a nice tattoo 😀

That is an awesome neon. I usually steer clear but this is gorgeous, a warm pink, and shiny when dry! (Not that it really matters since I normally use a shiny top coat, but the principle, man…)

    Looks wonderful on your skintone.

    1. Haha, I do wonder if bloggers / YouTubers have ever gotten so ingrained with their online personalities that they’ve tattooed themselves. Imagine Pixiwoo have it tattooed on them? 😆

I was surprised how nicely this neon applied – not sure what new pigment technology they used but I hope they keep this formula in mind for future releases!

  4. Wow that’s a bright shade. Good for spring & summer for sure! I am in DIRE need of a pedi. Might get one this weekend if I have time. No idea what color to get though.

  5. You have the BEST hands. Is that creepy? Lol. I can see what you mean about it being a great toe polish. It’s brilliantly bright and pigmented. Such a great summer colour.

    1. I have really tiny child-sized hands, lol! But they’re proportionate, so I guess that helps! My piano teacher always wished I had longer fingers…
PS. I’m so glad you were inspired to paint your OWN nails! They look lovely! 🙂

  6. I love blues and dark purples/reds on my toes, though when I’m on vacation I play around with bright toenails as well.
Can you get Sinful colors polishes in Ca? Their mattes are GORGEOUS and definitely reach for them when I want to get out of my nail polish ruts

    1. I love red on my toes. I do go a bit crazy on my toes compared to my hands – that’s where I get most wear of purples and blues.
Yes we do have Sinful Colors here in Canada! I received a bunch of them for my birthday last year:

      Belated birthday presents

I haven’t worn them much YET, to be honest! 😛 It’s a great suggestion, I should pick one of those to wear next! Thanks!

    1. I pretty much paint my toes all year round even in the winter when I’m wearing boots. I just prefer them painted! 😛 I typically do colourful pedicures, and more neutral manicures – just my comfort zone!

    1. It’s just so BRIGHT! I don’t know why, but I feel neon shades are only suited for toes, not fingers. 😛
Haha, my hands are tiny! I can just manage an octave on the piano – my poor piano teacher wished I could have longer fingers… maybe that’s why I quit!
