Stash Dash: Nov 20 – 26

It officially feels like Christmas to me now! And so, it’s back to the Christmas theme on the blog. 🙂 I thought about drawing a new one for this year but laziness overcame me so it’s the same one as last year. If you’re new to the blog, then it’ll be new to you! 😉

Here are the blog posts from last week, in case you missed any of them due to turkey + stuffing + pumpkin pie induced coma:

Project Pan: MAC Custom Quad with All That Glitters, Patina, Satin Taupe and Romp

I love eye shadows and these are some of my all time favourites! The evidence is in the HOLE I made in the pan! 😀

They somehow managed to bottle the galaxy in a nail polish!

MyLipAddiction Beauty Podcast: HippyLip Part DEUX

I re-listened to this episode yesterday and I had to laugh at Cat feeling left out of the conversation at one point. Don’t worry Cat, you can talk the entire episode next time! 😉

• Once again, on Black Friday I went a little nuts and bought things I didn’t need. I missed out last year due to the No-Buy, but part of me thinks perhaps next year I’ll not partake in Black Friday (especially the getting up early and hitting the mall at 7am part). I’ll post my haul next week. And now I’m looking at Cyber Monday deals… 😉

• Yesterday we braved another shopping mall to do actual Christmas shopping for other people. It’s an annual tradition with us and we’re really strategic about it – we get to the mall before the stores open and then case out the joint. When the stores open, we only hit up the stores that we know we’ll find stuff (sporting goods, electronics, bath / body), then we get the hell out of the mall before NOON. That’s the trick, get out before people start wandering into the mall to eat lunch. We’ve found that usually by 1pm, the malls are insane. We don’t want any part of that! 👿

How was your week? Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

  2. I’m so glad I was able to do Black Friday this year – I’m usually either working or out of town. I found it worth it, I got quite a few good deals and I found it much more tolerable than Boxing Day shopping – the mall was really not so bad at all. Can’t wait to see what you scored! 🙂

    1. I think Boxing Day is kind of being overshadowed by the double whammy of Black Friday & Cyber Monday now. The only good thing for Boxing Day is holiday stuff like wrapping paper and Christmas trees. I’ll be posting my Black Friday haul tomorrow!

  3. I couldn’t even find a parking spot at the mall!!! I started at one mall and then had to go to another due to the parking situation being so bad. I went at 2pm so I guess I totally missed the trick of beating the mall lunchers…

    1. Oh yeah, Christmas time mall parking is the WORST! We try to get to the malls before they open, or else we only go to malls that we can access by subway (Eaton Centre or Yorkdale). It’s such a nightmare otherwise. Did you end up getting some deals though?

  4. Love your Christmas theme yet again! I am also officially in the Christmas mood too!
We hit up TWO malls this weekend, one on Black Friday and one on Saturday. It was bad, but not as bad as we had expected. The deals were also better than we expected. Did end up getting some Christmas gifts, but not as much as we had hoped to accomplish!
Still need to listen to the podcast!

      1. Well, we originally went to the first one because we wanted to watch Fantastic Beasts, and thought we might as well do some shopping while we were there. The crowds didn’t end up being too bad, so the next day we decided to go to another mall, LOL.
I don’t think I’ll be getting anything for Cyber Monday. Just going to avoid looking for deals online today, haha. Are you?

          1. We didn’t even get to the movie…we were so exhausted from shopping that we just went home. LMAO. Next weekend!
Good point on the sales being the same, that’s true! I saw that Sephora rolled out some Spring collection items for a limited time for Cyber Monday, and got sucked into the NARS blush palettes before I realized they were $76. It’s not even on sale, and I have overspent on my low-buy already, so that is a HELL NO.

            1. Haha, exhausted from shopping, what are you, 70 years old? 😉
I stopped looking at Sephora now (well until that $20 off $50 coupon drops) I’ve overspent my low-buy for both November and December and possibly into 2017… 😛 I still haven’t formulated what my low-buy will be for next year. I am toying with going back on a no-buy! 😮

              1. I think I might be 70 years old! Lol!

Did some number crunching this morning and I also overspent for both November and December…after making fun of you for doing so. Haha! I’ve been thinking of doing a 3-month no-buy from January-March, but it’s yet to be decided.

                    1. I’m toying with a no-buy for Feb – March, May – June, Aug – Sept – so that’s half of the year.
                      And then I may also instate a 1 in 1 out policy…
We’ve got to be strategic / realistic about this! 😛

                    2. Hmmm…no-buy for half the year is possibly a good idea. I might have to copy you! 😛 The way you have it two months at a time is good, too – gives you a month’s break in between no-buys.

  5. I miss creating themes to fit the seasons/holidays. I want to say I’ll make the time to do the same, but I doubt I will lol.

I totally need that nail polish! It’s so pretty!

We’re trying to avoid the mall as much as possible this year. Thankfully most of my shopping is done already. I’ve started months ago (online). Now I get to avoid the hell that is the mall during the holiday season. I really like your get in and get out plan. That’s the way to do it!

    1. I had every intention of creating new artwork this year – perhaps a light blue and white theme. Or possibly silver and white. But it’s back to the green & red!

You’re my hero for starting your shopping so early! Well done! I need to do some online shopping soon or else they will not arrive on time…

  6. I didn’t go out on Black Friday but I definitely shopped online for Cyber Monday. I ordered the Lorac Unzipped Gold palette for $25 which I thought was a good deal. It comes with their eye primer too which I usually use. I thought maybe it was supposed to come with a free gloss as the free gift but I didn’t see that option in the checkout. Oh well. 🙂 Sounds like you had a great weekend!

      1. Well I’m going to send them an email asking about it if they don’t. If anything, Ulta customer service can be really accommodating. I know what you mean, though I’m poor now lol!
