Hauluary 2017 – Bath & Body

It’s the magical month known as Hauluary when I have no holds barred on shopping!  I hauled so much in the past few weeks that I decided to divide my haulage into 3 posts: body care, makeup and nail polish. 😛 Today I’ll tackle the body care stuff:

It didn’t help that the Bath & Body Works store near my work was closing down so they put almost the whole store on 75% off clearance. 😳

I saw that fivezero had hauled this so I decided to go back to see if I could find this and I did! (the store had just received a shipment of them that day) After hearing Rachael rave about this line, I decided to get it for myself. They smell amazing! This set regularly sells for $60 and I got it for $16.20! 😮

• I Love… Bubbles and Butter set in Raspberry & Blackberry – I found this unexpectedly behind some shampoo. The box was banged up but everything inside were sealed.
I always hear such great things about the “I Love…” range from Mrs. Strawberry Blonde so I had to try them out myself when I saw these on clearance. The smaller sets cost $4 and the larger ones were $10. These products are made in the UK! 🙂

• Delectable by Cake Beauty Dream Cream set (includes Vanilla & Cream, Strawberry & Cream, Coconut & Cream, Sugar Plum, Sweet Mint & Cream, and Lemon & Cream) – these are perfect purse size tubes and I got this set for 50% off ($10).

• Arlésienne Eau de Toilette (2014) – there are actually 2 versions of this perfume – one from 2014 and an updated version released in 2016. They smell different even though they have the same name – they contain the same notes but in different concentrations (the key notes are violet, rose and saffron). I’d first heard about this perfume from Jasmine over at The Happy Sloths on her Best of 2016 list. I tested both on my skin for the day and I ended up liking the 2014 version better, which worked out well since it was on sale for C$50 (reg C$75). The 2016 version reminds me a bit of Revlon Outrageous shampoo! (which I do love!)

I’m not sure what overcame me but I think I’ve stocked up enough body care for the next 3 years! XD  Have you tried any of the items I got?  Did you do any post-holiday hauling?

  1. Amazing scores in BBW – I’m currently using the twisted peppermint handcream you sent me. I love it, people in the office keep going ‘What’s REALLY minty?’, they’ve not cottoned onto the hand cream yet!
    Can’t believe you can still get Virgin Mojito stuff 😀 for you 😦 for me – It’s well and truly gone here, my local one is an outlet and they’ve not ever had it in, it all sold out online in the first sale!
    I’ve never actually tried the I Love… Stuff, Just not drawn to it for some reason so I’ll look out for your thoughts as I’m pretty sure I can get it in my supermarket.

    1. It’s funny because I’d never personally used the Twisted Peppermint body stuff from BBW, only the home fragrance. To me, the body stuff smells a lot better than the home stuff. I’m slightly addicted (am wearing it today again!)
      Aww I thought of you when I bought it. To ship it all the way to the UK would have been crazy expensive though. I really hope that you will find it again one day or if TBS re-releases it in the future!

        1. I didn’t love the new version of the Christmas apple scent this year as much as the one from last year. The added cinnamon drowns out the apple. But I liked it enough to pick it up! 😛
          Here’s hoping they bring back Virgin Mojito UNCHANGED.

  2. OMG, I have Twisted Peppermint! My director gave it to me as a gift! I hated it at first but it was one of those scents that I eventually grew fond of. It’s so delicious you almost want to taste it!
    Man, reading haul posts is NOT good for my No Buy Challenge! I shall fight and persevere!

    1. I wasn’t sure if I liked the Twisted Peppermint spray when I first sprayed it but as the day wore on, I got more and more addicted. I know, I want to eat it too… XD

  3. This is like my ideal haul. A tonne of bath and body stuff! I got a lot of the I Love products for Christmas. All the different scents sound great. Don’t get ne started on B&BW. So jealous of your haul there😊 xx

  8. LOL, so much stuff!

    I have mostly avoided body care this month even though there have been such good sales at BBW and TBS, because of my massive stash at home. That new Vanilla Chai scent at TBS is so delicious, though!

    Oh man, the Virgin Mojito scent is heavenly. I haven’t bought anything from that range yet, but it’s on my list!

    I’ve seen those Dream Cream sets around, but have never seen them on sale, and I also have too many hand creams too. They’ve gotten such good reviews though, they’re definitely on my radar!

    LOL, you got more nail polishes. Can’t wait to see what you picked up!

    1. I tried to like TBS Vanilla Chai but I didn’t love it! I ended up liking that scent in the body butter best – the rest smelled too milky for me. Fivezero said it reminded her of eggnog and I think that’s why I didn’t like it – I hate eggnog! 😛

      My stash is a little ridiculous on the body care front. I just remembered a couple of LUSH products and they have a Feb expiry. I’m SLATHERING that stuff on now! 😆

      I totally fell off the wagon and bought a lot of nail polishes… 😳

  16. I only bought a few items in the The Body Shop sale just after Christmas. I already own so many shower gels that I think I have enough for a year. And since I am hoping to move by the end the year, I thought to be smart and not move all of those products to a new home. My aim is to use up as much as possible.

  17. We’re opposites this month. I haven’t done any clearance shopping and very little beauty shopping in general. But maybe if I lived somewhere else, where all these stores are actually located it would be different story. Actually, I’m 100% sure it would. Lol. We did go to NYC after Christmas but we all got sick. The little shopping I did do was for baby girl. I’m so jelly of your BB&W goodies! hehe xo

    1. Good for you! I’m buckling down after January – full on no-buy for February and March. January is way too tempting with all of the clearance sales.
      Oh no, sorry to hear you all got sick on your NYC trip! Well, isn’t it the case now that you’re a mom – baby always comes first…

  20. That Twisted Peppermint spray is so lovely! I don’t own it myself (I don’t wear a lot of sprays or perfumes because I work in a scent free office) but my mom has it and looooves it. I should have picked up a candle it that scent when they were briefly around!

    1. I found the room fragrance vs body products for Twisted Peppermint smells different. The body stuff is sweeter whereas the room stuff is more pepperminty. I wish our office was scent-free… one of my coworkers drenches herself in musky perfume, it’s so gross. I don’t wear strong scents and I like to just spritz once or twice and that’s it.

    1. Yes, the mist and the hand cream are the same smell! I found the corresponding room fragrance to be more minty than sweet.
      I know, I’m sad for you that BBW isn’t there yet. I hope they will one day!

  22. My hubby doesnt care about fragrance for the house but I picked up the Hot Cocoa and Cream and boy! He enjoyed it a lot.. even my little one kept sniffing the place looking for it.. haha😂 he thought maybe a chocolate spilled on the floor..😋

      What I wrote was that I normally don’t care for BBW’s dessert type smells but the Hot Cocoa and Cream smell isn’t as crazy sweet as the others. So cute that your poor doggy thought there was real food… I guess that’s how convincing it was! 😛

  23. That 75% off tag has clearly sent you into distress mode to prepare for the apocalypse 😛 You’ll have to shower at least twice a day to achieve empties in 3 years time. What are you going to do with all that peppermint spray, body lotion and body butters? Perhaps your SO can help use some up some shower gel by showering twice a day for 1 year too *LOL*

    1. Yes the 75% off combined with the store shutting down had me running around yelling “the sky is falling, the sky is falling!” 😆
      Well, I am pretty liberal with shower gels. I just can’t control myself and squeeze out a whole bunch to lather up into suds. And missy, you can’t appreciate how much body lotion / butters is required since you don’t even moisturize yourself! Start doing it now – you’ll thank yourself when you’re 65 and have baby soft, supple skin. 😉

  24. This all looks SO GOOD! I see you picked up the Apple body-gel lotion. I still haven’t tested the texture of the Vanilla Chai yet so whichever one of us tests the body-gel lotion first will have to let the other know 🙂

    1. I tested the gel-lotion at the store and it felt great! I was hesitant since I did not like their body sorbet and was worried it would be similar (my issue with the sorbet was that it didn’t absorb into the skin). But the gel-lotion is a great hybrid of a lotion with a gel – absorbs in quickly but leaves the skin soft. 🙂

      1. I was curious about trying the body sorbet’s but Danni from A Beautiful Thing said something similar. I really like body lotions from TBS the scent lasts all day and they are so lightweight and absorb really fast!

  25. I’m trying to figure out why the Body Shop named it “Virgin Mojito” and not just “Mojito” I didn’t realize Rum had a scent? lol

    You could start up your own store with all of this stuff!

    The Delectable Hand Creams are awesome. Although I have a tube of the Sweet Mint & Cream and I’m not a fan of the scent. Nor the Coconut. All the others are awesome though!

    1. Maybe TBS had to assure alcoholics in recovery and Mormons that these Mojito-scented products do not contain alcohol? 😆

      I think we have opposite scent preferences because I’m so psyched for both the mint one and the coconut one! I gave this same set to a friend for Christmas (at full price of course, grrr) and her favourite was the lemon one.
