Sinful Color Kylie Jenner Collection in Karamel

This polish was part of the original launch of the Kylie Jenner and Sinful Color collaboration, back in March 2016. The official name of the collection was called King Kylie Collection:

I’m not a fan of the Kardashian / Jenner clan, but when a colour calls out to me, I set aside my personal differences. 😛

The formula is from the Sinful Shine range, which touts gel-like shine, compared to their regular line. The King Kylie collection featured a lot of blingy shades:

Of course, I got one of the more tame colours. I also picked up “Slay Grey”.

On Sinful Colors’ site, they describe the shade Karamel as:

Kandy is dandy, but this warm neutral color is an indulgence you just gotta bite into.

Let me get my disdain for the name out of the way. Karamel with a “K”!?! I know, I know, they do everything with a “K” – it’s crazy. Or should I say, Krazy. 🙄 Did you see in the promo photo up top, it read “See the Kollection”? Whose throat do I need to punch to make this stop? >:D Moving on…

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it on the blog before, but I’m a little fixated on the colour of Britney Spears’ bodysuit from her Toxic video:

… as a nail polish shade. I call it “erothereal nude”. 😉 I’m constantly on the hunt for a polish shade that emulates the look of that body suit: a peachy nude with lots of sparkle.

The shade Karamel fit the bill – a putty peachy shade with gold and silver shimmers. 😀

The formula of this polish is fantastic – it’s a one coat wonder!

Another coat gives it better opacity and shine:

The shimmer is understated but does translates well from bottle to nails:

This polish wore incredibly well – not a chip in sight, only minor tip wear and growth at the base:

I was worried the glitter in the polish would pose a challenge to remove, but it wasn’t the case.

The base colour isn’t overly warm or cool – I think this could suit a wide variety of skin tones.

The random item featured today is a leftover tube of Rockets candy from last Halloween:

If you’re American, you are probably yelling at the screen “Those are SMARTIES!” And you would be correct. They’re the same thing – the Canadian version is called Rockets because the candy name Smarties was already taken:

I don’t think the Smarties chocolates are available in the US.  They’re similar to M&Ms but crunchier.

I’m not sure if countries outside of North America have their own version of these Rocket / Smarties candies:

They’re fun to eat – crunchy tablets of pure sugar. As kids, we used to pretend they were pills. 😛

  2. I LOVE SMARTIES. Ahem, Rockets. Yeah, so confusing. But I always have a bunch left over from Halloween, too. Yummy yummy. (I like Smarties, too. They’re better than M&Ms. There, I said it.)

    This is really pretty! Sadly I do not have it, but I do have some other SinfulShines to try out. Love that you’ve been looking for a polish to go with Britney’s bodysuit. LMAO!

    1. Do you like SweeTarts / Bottle Caps too? There’s just something so simple about these types of tablet candies. I can eat them in one sitting…
      Hrm I haven’t decided about Smarties vs M&Ms. They’re both good and different enough to justify eating both. Sometimes I find the coating on Smarties to overwhelm the chocolate inside. Sometimes I find M&Ms to taste artificial… I don’t like plain M&Ms, I’d rather have the peanut ones.

    1. I just couldn’t lead people to think I am a Kylie fan… but this colour is so pretty! I hope you find it! It says on the SInful Colors site this shade is not available any more but Sinful Colors polishes have a way of popping up in the oddest places. Good luck!
      And I feared that punching throats was too violent for this blog but that’s how I talk in real life… got to keep it real! 😛 I’ve never actually punched anyone in the throat… sadly.

That colour is so pretty 😍 I have to admit I haven’t look at this range, I don’t think I can call it a ‘kollection’ the Ks annoy me too, but I really like the look of that and it’s normally pretty reasonably priced. Not sure if they still sell in the UK but if they do I’ll be on the lookout for that. The rockets look like fizzers (I think that’s what they’re called, I normally eat them rather than checking the name 😛 ) you get in Halloween bags with lollies in the UK and they’re so nice, I kind of feel like them now!

    1. The whole family annoys me – ugh! But yes, Sinful Colors are really affordable and offer some great colours / finishes. I hope you find these in the UK. There have been another release after this initial one with various finishes like denim and bling…

      1. Hehe, I used to watch Keeping up with the Kardshians to see what the fuss was about and didn’t really get it. I had a couple of sinful colours before and they were good, I think they stopped stocking them in the UK though which was annoying. I’m intrigued by denim nail varnishes, I haven’t bought any yet but they seemed to be a trend that disappeared quite quickly and I always wondered if they actually looked anything like denim. Rockets/Fizzers are just so easy to eat a whole tube in one go. I haven’t had any in years but I think this Halloween I might have to go back to them for the trick or treaters and sneak some myself 😁

  7. Lmao this post made me laugh so hard! Your rant about the Kardashian/Jenner obsession about having to start everything with a K is so true – get over yourselves!

    Also, your fixation on finding Britney’s nude bodysuit in nail polish form is HILARIOUS. But I can totally understand why – that bodysuit is iconic! The polish itself is really gorgeous, and much more unique on the nails with the shimmers than it looks in the bottle from afar.

    Also…Rockets are known as Smarties in the US?! My mind is blown.

      Yeah I originally learned about that because of the Smarties debate – that our chocolate version isn’t available in the US because of the other kind. So odd, huh!

  8. That’s pretty. I’m actually wearing a shade from the Kylie line right now too, Konstellation. It’s a weird one. It’s matte but it has shimmer and the color shifts from blue-grey to green to purple, depending on how the light hits it.

  10. I bought a very similar colour from the same kollection kalled kommando and instead of a gold fleck it has a silver one, and maybe yours is slightly peachier. Neither of the two I picked up were very nice formulas though from memory!
    Britney’s body suit is amazing, I would wear some version of that if I could.
    Sounds like your hunt for Britney’s bodysuit in polish form is the same for me as a white glitter polish. I’ve genuinely debated trying to make my own polish to make the polish that I can’t find anywhere

  11. The nailpolish color looks really nice.
    Smarties used to be my favorite candy when I was younger, I especially loved the pink ones ☺️. But my favorite now is “Freia melkesjokolade”from Norway 💕.

  12. That’s such a beautiful neutral polish! It really does resemble Britney’s suit there too! I just bought a few from Kandee Johnson’s Collection and am really impressed with the formula. It was surprisingly long lasting! Though your swatches do these polishes more justice than my poor nubs did lol!

  14. OMG I cannot believe Smarties (the choc ones) aren’t available in the US! I’m shocked! I grew up on Smarties and it makes me a little sad that there are kids out there who’ve never enjoyed Smarties… poor souls…

    Anyhoo… I think it’s OK to admit you like that Kylie polish. I try my best not to buy anything that’s endorsed by that family, but if my new favourite lipstick, nail polish (or whatever) happened to be endorsed by one of the K’s, I’d probably cave… but for now I’m happy that the K’s have a deal with Pepsi and not Coke. Think about it…. Koke…. I’m so glad it didn’t come to that. So now, sweet Coke, we can be friends forever…

    1. I was surprised to learn that Smarties aren’t in the US either. I used to think of Smarties as more colourful M&Ms.

  15. Allright! So….. first of all, I do love that shade! I really like nude nail colors and if I ever stop chewing my nails since I took my acrylics off, maybe I’ll paint them. OMG, I know. So Sad. Anyhow, yep, those are Smarties! And we don’t have the chocolate ones. I’ve never seen those before. My favorite FAVORITE candy of all time is …. THE CADBURY CREME EGG. It’s so perfect in every way! I also like the Cadbury Mini Eggs but the Creme Egg is everything!

      I heard some people have seen the chocolate version Smarties in some parts of the US – I think it’s a regional thing.
      My SO loves Cadbury Creme eggs… I find them weird because the association of the oozy center part with real egg yolks. And they’re too sweet.

    I borderline hate the K-clan. I feel that they’re a visual arsenal and ethically questionable (drama on the Kylie cosmetics). I absolutely cannot set aside my differences.
