I Won a Giveaway! ColourPop Pressed Eye Shadows!

I won a giveaway! 😀 Back in late March, I learned that I had won some ColourPop Pressed Shadows from Jess of xxoJess, and here they are:

• Know The Drill (metallic bronze)
• Silver Lining (matte dusty purple)
• Cute Alert (matte deep burgundy)
• Lost and Found (matte sky blue)
• ColourPop Empty Eyeshadow Palette (hold 4 pans)

I’m so thrilled to get my hands on these. Do you remember when I wrote about wanting to try them in my Megapost on customerizable palettes? Now I got my grubby hands on them! 😀

Here’s a bit of an unboxing:

The pressed shadows come in flat packaging exactly like MAC’s and ABH’s refill pans. Each refill contains 1.2g of product and are made in the US.
The palette is made of a sturdy cardboard and has a magnetized base. It measures approx 15.2 x 6.5 x 2.0 cm.  I really like that there’s a window on the cover so the shadows are visible when the lid is closed.
“Made You Look” L to R: Know The Drill (metallic bronze), Silver Lining (matte dusty purple), Cute Alert (matte deep burgundy), Lost and Found (matte sky blue)

Check out Jess’ post showing swatches of 27 of the Pressed Shadows from ColourPop! I’ve created a wish list based on her swatches which includes High Strung, Come & Get It, Take The Lead, and Made to Last.  😛

And Jess was so sweet to include 2 additional items, after I oogled over them on her blog:

• Essence Satin Touch Blushes in 10 Satin Coral (left) and 20 Satin Love (right)

Jess showed these in her post on the new Essence releases. According to her, these blushes are MUST HAVES! 😀

I just love pressed powders with embossed designs on them. Makes me not want to dip my brushes onto that perfect surface though!

Thank you so much, Jess, for these goodies! I cannot wait to try everything! 😀

Have you tried the ColourPop Pressed Eye Shadows or Essence blushes? Are you thinking of getting them?

  1. How cool that you won a giveaway! I am dying to try out colourpop products. Everybody is always so enthusiastic about them, I hope I get to try some of their eyeshadows or lipproducts out soon. Essence is a great budget proof brand! I’d love to try the blushes out, I haven’t seen them in my drugstore yet but I will definitely keep an eye on it! xo

    1. I don’t enter that many giveaways but I’ve been lucky. I think I’ve won 5 or so in the past couple of years. 🙂
ColourPop is so affordable and they cater to a wide variety of skin tones, I think that’s why they’re so popular. I’ve worn the Essence blushes over the weekend and they really are as good as everyone says they are. I’ve had other Essence blushes before but this formula is more pigmented and lasts longer! Grab them if you spot them.

  2. Congratulations on your win! I really want to try Essence blush, I have the quattro eyeshadows at home and they’re not too shabby for their price point.

    1. I haven’t tried a lot of Essence eye shadows. I’ve been seeing that they’ve released customizable palettes and refills. I cannot wait til those are available here!

    1. Thanks! I’ve read a few reviews of those Essence blushes and they’ve all been positive. Now don’t quote me, but I believe they’re limited edition so you might want to find them fast and grab them if you see them!

        1. And with a brand like ColourPop, since the products are so inexpensive, you probably end up paying MORE for shipping than the cost of the items themselves. I can’t justify that!

  5. Congrats!! This is so cool. I’m waiting for my Colorpop order to arrive so I can finally see what the hypes about. Also I’ve been wanting to try out some essence stuff but been confused on where to start, perhaps these blushes would be a start 😅😅

    1. I hope you’ll like your ColourPop items! Can’t wait to see what you get.
I’ve tried a handful of Essence products – I like their gel liner and nail polishes. 🙂

  6. Just so you know there’s free international shippng on colour pop for this weekend with no cap. I’ve just placed a second small order to get under the customs charge hopefully (and the shadows seemed to have been discounted to 3.33 for no reason when you get to checkout)
Not that I’m encouraging you haha

Those shades look really pretty I just came to review your post before I placed an order, but the colours weren’t wild enough for me, I’m all about the crazy colours at the moment, no idea why!

Just looked over Jess’ post and Highstrung looks a lot like Steampunk from MUG which you admired from my MUG collection.

Those blushes look lovely, yet another item that I’ve not seen in our crappy essence selection, I’m hoping to see some more of the more interesting items in Malaysia.

    1. I saw from fivezero’s blog about the free shipping and crazy discounts. I’m on a NO BUY NOW. Ugh. *shakes fist at ColourPop*

Ah good eye to spot the similarity between Highstrung and MUG Steampunk. Perhaps I get both and to a head to head battle! XD

I’m still shaking my head over your lack of Essence selection. And no Bourjois makeup remover! What the heck. I’m so excited for your shopping over in Malaysia – yes, save yourself for that!

    1. Thanks Dal! 🙂 I highly recommend those Essence blushes – I tried both over the weekend and they are so pigmented and wear so well. I hope Essence brings out more shades in this formula. I’ve tried other Essence blushes but I find these ones better.

  7. Congrats!! I got one of their pressed shadows with a purchase but I haven’t tested it out yet. I have a handful of their Super Shock Shadows but I don’t really know how I feel about them… maybe I’m just applying them wrong? I don’t know. But there are some pressed shadows I’m thinking of picking up myself!

    1. I’m also guilty of having many new makeup sitting unused! 😛 I have a set of the Super Shock Shadows which were gifted to me and I plan to open them SOON. I hear they’re best when applied with fingers rather than brushes?

  8. Okay, I really do live under a rock. That’s why I need to read your blog 🤣 can’t wait to hear your verdict!

I’m so bad with social media brands. 😅 perhaps binge watch Youtube is the prescription for me

    1. Haha, you’re funny. Social media brands are a fairly new phenomenon. I haven’t tried too many of them – off the top of my head I can think of ColourPop, Jeffree Star, Gerard Cosmetics, Morphe, OFRA… those all seem to not have any bricks & mortar store presence but all built on social media promotion.

    1. Thanks! I wore the Essence blushes and they really are very pigmented and last all day. I’ve had other Essence blushes before but this formula outperform them. If you see them, grab them!
