This was an exclusive deal for Amex card holders. She was so disappointed in the contents since she assumed it would contain luxury brands… not Garnier and Vasaline. But I’m ok with what’s inside!   3. You got a HAUL!

    From my boyfriend I got some Mickey Mouse jammies, some festive boot socks (the socks are the wrong size so we have to exchange them), a Target gift card & a remote control Lightning McQueen (because I told him I had an RC car when I was a kid). I’m kinda disappointed he didn’t get me the Thunderbug (Tampa Bay Lightning mascot) socks I was obsessing over at the mall a couple weeks ago. 😂 Oh And a tv antenna so I can watch the Buzzr retro game show network (it comes on as a digital over the air channel here but it’s not on my cable).

    From my dad I got a bunch of gift cards (Starbucks, Red Robin, Panera, BWW, JC Penney… which he put in a Sephora bag & you can use JCP gift cards at the Sephoras in JCP), some Ghirardelli chocolate squares & a variety popcorn tin.

      1. My in-laws kitties got some toys too (including this crazy automatic laser light show thing?) and all they wanted to do was climb in the gift boxes and gift bags. 😆

  6. Oooh, what lovely gifts!
    The Tarte palette looks like it would be really good for travelling. And ha, you got the Sugar Crush body spray – now you can walk around smelling like a margarita all the time!
    And umm, no wonder your friend was annoyed, the box is called a LUXE BOX and is full of drugstore items. Not to say the products inside aren’t good, but it’s just misleading.
    Grape Kit Kat sounds so interesting! And ooooh Mango Pocky, I’ve never tried that either! Although the “squeeze” part of the name is confusing, but it seems to be just normal Pocky?

    1. Yes I really liked the Tartelette Tease palette, which I took to Japan with me. I’m hoping this will be good too!

      Heehee, I sprayed the Sugar Crush mist yesterday to imagine that I was sitting on a beach instead of freezing my butt off here! 😮

      I totally understand why she would be miffed… especially since the offer is through Amex too – they fancy themselves to be more premium. Ah well.

      I haven’t a clue about the Pocky, why it’s Squeeze. I’ll try it soon!

  9. We don’t do presents for Christmas as we do presents for something else in December already. Still, my parents got me some cash and we were allowed to pick out a Christmas gift during my work Christmas party too.

    1. We (my bf and I) were just saying that we should do away with getting gifts for each other… we already have what we need, and if there’s something that we want, we would just buy it for ourselves.

  10. Chocolates and gift cards are always safe gifts! I had considered posting stock photos of what I got for Christmas too but didn’t as the rest of the photos in the post all looked so nice 😛

    The Fenty gloss and Tarteist palette are stunning! I have a Vaseline Cocoa Butter lip balm and it smells SO GOOD! Mine is in a little pot and it’s the cutest!

    1. We exchange wish lists in November – around 10 items on the list so that people can pick and choose what to buy me. It’s a great system since I’m a little surprised but I end up with what I really want. 🙂

    1. It’s been SO COLD here lately, that vest has been godsent! The Smashbox brush set contains a super unique brush that has a triangular shape ferrule – not sure what to use it for yet.

As a KitKat fanatic, I need to know what these taste like… hopefully more like chocolate covered raisins and not like chocolate + Grape Crush soda, which is what my initial thought was 😛

  20. Great gifts! Did you say GRAPE Kit Kat? I’m gonna need you to report back on how that actually is.

    That Turonno shirt is awesome; native Calgarians have a specific (aka right) way of saying Calgary too – I’d totally pick up a YYC version if they made them!

    I’ve been eyeing that Tarte palette for a year or more – I want it but I also don’t need more eyeshadow – such a struggle.

    We picked up that humungous tray of Ferrero Rocher for Christmas and I ate most of them and my skin is hating me for it – but they’re SO GOOD!

    1. I still haven’t busted open that Grape Kit Kat yet – I’m half scared, and half trying to prolong the anticipation. I’ll probably have it over the weekend and I will report back.

      How do you say Calgary? I’m curious now!

      I wore that Tarte palette last week and it’s great. If you want to talk yourself into it – it’s a fantastic little palette if you’re going away for a night or two. It takes up absolutely no space at all! 😉

      I’ve been eating 1 Ferrero Rocher daily and encouraging others to hep out – and that box is still more than half full. I love Ferrero Rocher but man, it’s getting to be somewhat of a chore! 😆

    2. We ate the Grape Kit Kat finally and it is good! The flavour is very subtle – not bam in your face grape. I felt the smell was more grape than the actual taste. I’m glad I got to try it!

  22. I had hard core flu during Christmas 😦 I received a cashmere sweater, a travel notebook, mug (drawn by my niece; it’s so cute), a get away gift card and some rose shape soap 😀

    How’s that Fenty gloss getting along? It gets sooooo much buzz~~

    1. The Fenty gloss is excellent! The hype is real on that one – very flattering shade (universal?) and it does not feel sticky on the lips, wears off well, and smells like candy!

      Owning a Cashmere sweater is a life goal of mine… I would like to knit one for myself but I’m imagining the cost!
      Sorry to hear you had the flu! I get the flu shot every year and I’ve been ok.
