What’s in my makeup bag

“What’s in my makeup bag” is a popular youtube / blog topic, it’s fascinating to see what other people find to be so essential that they need to carry it with them at all times.

Here’s the makeup bag I carry in my purse:

It’s an Inglot bag I got as a purchase with purchase for $5 at the now defunct Inglot store in Montreal. It’s made of sturdy nylon, quite similar to the MAC Softsac.

Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Foundation (& comparison to other fluid foundations)

I love the Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Foundation SPF 18 – $39 for 30ml (department stores) – it is my ideal everyday foundation.  I alternate between this and BB creams for a typical weekday when I don’t need high coverage or a super long wearing foundation.

No Brushes Required

I recently stayed overnight at a hotel and wanted to pack the most minimal amount of cosmetics with me.  I really didn’t even want to fuss with makeup brushes so I decided to pack only makeup that I can apply without the use of makeup brushes.

Charmzone Natural Skinade BB cream

I’m a big fan of BB creams and light coverage base makeup in general.  What are BB creams?  Since BB creams have become much more prevalent outside of Asia in recent years, I’ll let the authority provide an explanation: Wikipedia.  For ages, I wore the Skin79 Super Plus Beblish Balm Triple Function SPF30 PA++ (also affectionately just called the Hot Pink BB) but I always found it to be a bit too ashy / grey on me.  I routinely mixed it with the now discontinued Kiehls Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 in Medium, which was too dark on its own for me.  The mixture worked well, but it wasn’t ideal.

After using up my last Skin79 BB cream, on a whim, I decided to try the Charmzone Natural Skinade BB cream.
