Be warned: this is a fun and colourful post to look at this cute TONYMOLY Mini Fruit Lip Balm Set:
I received this for Christmas last year and have been enjoying it for the past few months!
It’s officially summer today! So this is your annual reminder to wear your sunscreen every single day! Let’s have a look at 2 facial sunscreens that I’m currently enjoying:
• Allie UV Mineral Moist NEO SPF 50+ PA++++
• Clarins UV Plus HP Sunscreen Multi-Protection Tint in Light
Last Thursday, I was invited to attend a Beauty Blogger even at Rexall located in downtown Toronto. It was to celebrate their remodeled location at Yonge and Richmond (in the heart of the Financial District in Toronto – think of it as Wall Street in NYC). It was a lovely event and I also received some loot!
I posted a bunch of IG Stories of the event (if you’re not following me on Instagram, here is my account!) and I’ll share some of the videos here as well. 🙂
Recently something happened that really surprised me. I received an email unexpectedly from the PR Manager from Farleyco Marketing regarding my recent post on the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. Farleyco Marketing is the Canadian distributors for Real Techniques in Canada, among other brands. She explained that they took my concerns on the sponge quality to Real Techniques and offered me a replacement of the sponge along with other Real Techniques products. I was floored! 😮
They sent me the above items – more than I expected! More on the story below…
After my previous month of hauling in my April Low-Buy, May was a month of resisting temptations! I did add a few items to my stash, namely, I went hairspray crazy:
I ran out of hairspray entirely and I always feel uneasy whenever I don’t even have a back-up in my stash! Here’s how the month went:
This month was the month of finishing up a lot of facial skincare:
I finished both my day and night creams, plus a bunch of other essential face product. So weird how that happens.
Back in April, I was contacted by Mont Bleu to try out some of their nail tools. Now, you may not have heard of Mont Bleu, but I certainly have! I remember ages ago, reading raves about the brand for their amazing glass files from nail bloggers that I admired (I’m talking 4 years ago, ahem) – and thinking that one day I will try them. And now I’m finally trying them!
• Set of 3 crystal nail files “Wave Color” in “Light Rose-Tanzanite” [link]
• Dual-end glass cuticle pusher in “Pink” [link]
• Mont Bleu Cuticle Nippers [link]
• Original Foot Scraper & Callus Remover in Teal [link]
I’ve been testing these out for about a month and here are my thoughts.
As you can see from the post title, this isn’t going to be an overly positive post. One could say it almost doesn’t matter which cushion foundation was my first
victim choice, but it just so happened to be one that isn’t widely known:
The Donginbi Red Ginseng Radiance Cushion BB SPF 50 PA+++ in #23 Calm Beige. This compact cost me $45 and includes the case, an applicator sponge, and 2 cushion refills (at 18ml each). I bought this last year during a K-Beauty haul. I’ve been using this cushion compact on and off for the past 5 months – I’m going to use this product as a reference, but my rant is for the overall concept of cushion compacts.
I ordered the AliExpress dupe to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge back in January last year, and it only cost me $0.70. 😀 But in order for me to truly compare how it looks and feels against the real thing… I had to get the real thing:
The price for the Real Techniques sponge ranges from $7.69 online from the RT store to $11.99 from Rexall (drugstore). I bought mine for $9.99 off NailPolishCanada.com
