Many of you may already know Maria of Best Day Blogger, through her blog and social media, but I never really fully appreciated how sexy her voice was until we did the podcast recording.

I was my usual crabby self about the whole “trend” of pastels for Spring. 😛 What’s next, brights for Summer? Muted tones for Autumn? *feigns shock* 😱

  7. This was so much fun to listen to!

    I have a morbid fascination with mortuary makeup. It kind of scares me. I know the makeup is meant to make the deceased look more like themselves, but they never do.

    LOL, you’re so right about the seasonal colour trends. Pastels for spring, vampy shades for fall, reds, golds and silvers for Christmas? How inspiring 😛 For some reason, I LOVED Easter as a kid, so I’m super into pastels even though they don’t suit my skin tone.

    The age when kids should be using makeup is super hard to answer! I feel like if I had a daughter, I would not want her to use makeup until late junior high/early high school, but I feel like I’ve been wearing makeup myself my entire life, if you include that Bonne Bell stuff, or body sprays, lol! I think actual adult makeup was maybe Grade 8-9, though. Like you, I was also an eye shadow girl!

    1. Phew, I was worried I was the only one with the fascination with mortuary makeup. It freaks me out but I love learning about it! What is wrong with us?

      I’ve wanted to wear pastel eye shadows forever but I can’t pull it off. It looks terrible on me! Have you worn pastel makeup?

      Yeah… it’s such a tough call on the age and where do you draw the line with how much makeup? I always feel like lip gloss is the gateway drug… also nail polishes. Then bam, suddenly we’re wearing foundation, eye shadow, and lipstick! 😛

      1. Definitely a morbid fascination type of thing! I’ve always wondered what type of people choose to do that type of job, and why.

        I’ve also tried pastel shadows and it looked terrible on me, too!

        LOL, you’re so right, nail polishes and lip gloss are TOTALLY the gateway drug into the world of makeup. My mom had this magenta nail polish, similar to the shade Essie Tour de Finance, and I remember DYING to wear it.

    First ever makeup was Clinique lip gloss pot, colour air kiss. Clinique still used green plastic packaging back then.
