Lots of hair and skincare empties to kick off the year:
I should mention here that I have to wash my hair every day or else it gets really limp. I have started to skip one day a week – typically Sundays when it doesn’t matter if I just tie my hair back – I honestly don’t think my hair / scalp is any better for skipping the one day of washing. Anyway, onto the empties.
It was only a matter of time before I placed a Sephora order! Initially I was lured onto Sephora for the final day of the Double Points offer on skincare – I wanted to get the Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray.  But then a few other nagging bits from my Lemmings list urged me to get other things…
I just couldn’t wait until April for the VIB sale to get the Surratt Beauty – I had every intention to wait, but my resolve has been weakened by Hauluary. đ
One thing I will say is, holy, there’s so much packaging with these items, this is what the above items look like removed from their cartons:

I’m trying to come up with post titles that don’t involve the word “haul”… it’s getting a bit repetitive. But repetitive doesn’t necessarily mean boring, right? đ Â Today I bring you some Paul & Joe BeautĂŠ loot:

After receiving this present, I was compelled to go to the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) that carries the Paul & Joe line, and upon laying eyes on the glory of their display, lost my mind, blacked out for a bit, only waking up to find myself thrusting my credit card at the cashier. It was all my friend’s fault! đ
I don’t even need to explain myself. I bought makeup. Â Lots of it. Â Hudson’s Bay is Canada’s main department store – we often just call it “The Bay”. Â Its American equivalent would be Macy’s. Â It carries all the core cosmetics brands typically found in department stores: Clinique, Clarins, Shiseido, Lancome, Estee Lauder… but, their flagship location in downtown Toronto also carries some brands that I’ve been wanting to try more of, including Becca, Burberry and Vincent Longo:
These were purchased over 3 separate visits; first I visited the Becca counter, which is located in a newer section of the store, called Beauty Underground which is located on the lower level, the same level as the subway. Â Within this department, they carry more of their “fringe” brands like Becca, Vincent Longo, and Anna Sui – there’s even a special display with TonyMoly products! Â This post will be more about my experiences at the beauty counters rather than about the products – I promise I’ll do more detailed reviews about the products in the future.
Continuing with “Hauluary” (full credit goes to GymBagMakeup for this term!), I bought a bunch of Korean beauty items – this haul consists of an online order as well as a visit to a local Korean store.
There’s a new Korean beauty kiosk inside the local Korean grocery store that carries TonyMoly stuff among others so I had to pay a visit. đ

I have this in 01 Light and it is available in 3Â shades, ranging from fair to medium skin tone. Â It retails for $62 for a 40ml tube and is available at Hudson’s Bay and select Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques.
I was SO excited when I spied this deal at a small hair salon while walking around on my lunch hour during Boxing Week. A handwritten sign: “4 for $20 or $7 each” – a full OPI display, hardly picked over. JAW DROP! Usually, OPI costs $12-$15 a bottle here. I was with a couple of coworkers, and I was still on my No-Buy, so I had to play it cool. I asked the owner if I could set aside 4 shades and that I’d come back in 2 days to pick them up. I went back on the Monday after my No-Buy finished and bought the 4 polishes, and then some…

I couldn’t resist getting some MAC goodies while on lunch break last week.
Some might think this is rather boring, a bunch of brushes, a few eye shadows and an eye cream…. but you know how I love brushes! đ
