I’ve been wanting to try Surratt Beauty ever since I learned about the Relevée Lash Curler, way before the brand became available in Canada. I toyed with paying the hefty prices to purchase it online. I was then so annoyed that when the brand did become available at Sephora, and it was constantly sold out!  Finally I got a notification in January to advise that the curler was back in stock so I decided not to wait for the VIB sale in April to buy some Surratt items:

Last year the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water seem to take the makeup world by storm. Everywhere I turned, I saw people posting rave reviews about it. I love facial mists so I was intrigued by one that claims to provide hydration and acts as a primer.

Lise Watier Simply Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

I rushed to get this review up because I just couldn’t hold off on testing this puppy out and sharing my thoughts.  The Lise Watier Simply Nudes 12-Colour Eyeshadow Palette is from the Variations de Nude Spring 2016 collection:

I’ve neglected my Project Focus 10 palette (the Smashbox Double Exposure) so I could wear this beauty all week:

I picked this palette up when I redeemed my Optimum Points, so it didn’t cost me anything, but the retail price of this palette is $65 CAD, for 12g of product (1g per colour/pan).  For those of you not familiar with the brand Lise Watier, it’s a Canadian mid-range cosmetics line that I would compare to Stila or Smashbox in terms of quality – you can read more about the brand philosophy here. It is sold at Shoppers Drug Mart, select Sears and Hudson’s Bay locations. “Lise Watier” is pronounced Leez Watt-ee-yay. 😉

Project Focus 10: Orly Nailtrition

It’s Two Two Two Day! (February 22nd; 2-22, heh) I totally just made that up. Maybe the world will end when it’s Feb 22, 2222.  None of us will live that long anyway, so no worries. 😉

Today is the halfway point of Project Focus 10 series and I’ll be reviewing Orly Nailtrition Nail Strengthener & Growth Treatment:

I’ve been using this as my nail treatment since mid-December, so I’ve had this on my nails continuously for about 2 months. I bought my bottle from Sally Beauty Supply (the only bricks and mortar store that sells Orly near me) for $17 for 18ml. (NailPolishCanada also stocks it)  It is made in the USA and has a recommended lifespan of 3 years from opening.

Project Focus 10: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

Another Monday, another Project Focus 10 review! It’s actually a holiday here today. It’s Family Day, which is a fairly new holiday for us (it started in 2008). Family Day activities include: going skating, playing hockey, skiing… oh who am I kidding? We just sleep in, watch tv, eat junk food and waste the day away – and then tomorrow we complain about how the long weekend wasn’t long enough. 😛

I bought the 50ml jar for CAD $34, but it is also available in a 125ml jar for CAD $58, which is a better value per ml ($0.68 vs $0.46).

It retails for CAD $42 and is available in 5 colours. I have the shade Acorn which is a taupey brown shade.  This product is refillable and the refills sell for $29 each.  I bought mine at Hudson’s Bay.
