LOFT Clothing Haul Spring 2016

Taking a pause from a Japan post today. šŸ˜› I haven’t shopped at LOFT in ages. After the closure of my previous wardrobe staple store, JACOB, I turned to LOFT for my a lot of my clothes. Ā Last week, while killing time at the mall waiting for a friend, I decided to stop into LOFT and I walked out with 4 pieces. šŸ™‚

People always comment that I don’t wear enough colour so how about thisĀ vermilion shade? šŸ˜›

New to Me: Teeez Cosmetics

I heard about Teeez Cosmetics being available at Hudson’s Bay from Jodi of A Brash Attitude a couple of weeks ago. Then I happen to walk by the Beauty Underground section in the Bay downtown and saw the new counter that has been set up (sadly, it replaced the Anna Sui counter! 😦 AS is still available at select Beauty Boutiques at Shoppers though). Although the counter is quite sparse looking right now, the eye catching packaging of the Teeez Cosmetics products more than makes up for it. I had a nice chat with the SA and I ended up getting these items:

Aren’t they so fun? When I first saw the packaging, I thought they looked like a mix of Urban Decay and Benefit Cosmetics.

Sephora VIB Sale April 2016 Haul

Calling this a “haul” is kind of a stretch, but humour me. I only bought 4 items!
SEphora_VIB_haul_April2016_2
My total came to $83.30 which is pretty low considering all of the anticipation for the VIB sale! I got:

Optimum Points Redemption Beauty Event Haul

Yippee! Another opportunity to get free makeup! The Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Points Redemption event last weekend was all focused on BEAUTY – so what choice did I have but to get more makeup? šŸ˜‰

I had $200 to redeem. Yeah yeah, I just did a makeup purge and here I am, getting more stuff… (My stash was getting dangerously low with all the decluttering LMAO! šŸ˜† )

Random makeup haul: Shoppers, Rexall, Faces, etc

By now you’re sick of my hauls, right?  I’m sorry, but you realize January was NO HOLDS BARRED month, and I just came off a yearlong dry spell, so every makeup item looked mighty tempting.  This is the LAST of the January hauls (until I receive the items I ordered online).  Here are some random bits and pieces I picked up that I haven’t covered in my previous posts:

Collective Nail Polish Acquisitions

As you’ve seen in yesterday’s post, I’ve been hitting up all the Winners and Marshalls within a 10km radius of my home last month. I also visited my favourite salon supply shop that sells polishes for cheap – they still had the Essie buy 4 get 2 free offer, and it was extended to the China Glaze polishes too!  And I also found someone who sells Avon so I had to get some polishes – it’s been years since I’ve bought Avon polishes (they’re great quality). So I somehow ended up with more polishes…

There’s no feeling in the world like hauling a whole whack of nail polishes!  If that’s wrong, then I don’t want to be right! šŸ˜›  (These do not include the nail polish hauls already posted here and here and here and here.)  Brace yourselves…

Winners (TJMaxx) / Marshalls Haulage

Winners, oh how I love thee! For non-Canadians, Winners is the Canadian version of TJMaxx (or TKMaxx in the UK). It’s owned and operated by the same parent company as Marshalls. Winners used to be the only game in town but now we also have Marshalls (I don’t really understand the differentiation between the two?) Ā For Canadians, Winners is probably a bigger deal than TJMaxx is in the US – we don’t really have a lot of options for discount stores… or department stores in general. Lots of people treat Winners like another department store since they stock pretty much everything. Ā Personally, I go to Winners for the beauty products, and sometimes footwear / accessories. Here’s my January Winners / Marshalls haulage:

These were all acquired between Jan 2 and Jan 31st! šŸ˜€ Ā I also had a couple of gift cards that I’d been saving so those went to good use!

Sephora Order: Clinique, Surratt, Sephora Collection, etc

It was only a matter of time before I placed a Sephora order! Initially I was lured onto Sephora for the final day of the Double Points offerĀ on skincare – I wanted to get the CliniqueĀ Moisture Surge Face Spray. Ā But then a few other nagging bits from my Lemmings list urged me to get other things…
Sephora_haul2016_2
I just couldn’t wait until April for the VIB sale to get the Surratt Beauty – I had every intention to wait, butĀ my resolve hasĀ been weakened by Hauluary. šŸ˜›

One thing I will say is, holy, there’s so much packaging with these items,Ā this is what the above items look like removed from their cartons:

Even the eyeliner came in its own box – ridiculous!

Hudson’s Bay Beauty: Becca, Burberry & Vincent Longo

I don’t even need to explain myself. I bought makeup. Ā Lots of it. Ā Hudson’s Bay is Canada’s main department store – we often just call it “The Bay”. Ā Its American equivalent would be Macy’s. Ā It carries all the core cosmetics brands typically found in department stores: Clinique, Clarins, Shiseido, Lancome, Estee Lauder… but, their flagship location in downtown Toronto also carries some brands that I’ve been wanting to try more of, including Becca, Burberry and Vincent Longo:

These were purchased over 3 separate visits; first I visited the Becca counter, which is located in a newer section of the store, called Beauty Underground which is located on the lower level, the same level as the subway. Ā Within this department, they carry more of their “fringe” brands like Becca, Vincent Longo, and Anna Sui – there’s even a special display with TonyMoly products! Ā This post will be more about my experiences at the beauty counters rather than about the products – I promise I’ll do more detailed reviews about the products in the future.
