Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect lipstick

I mentioned in my belated birthday gifts post that I bought the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Bitch Perfect with my Holt Renfrew gift card:
I’ve now had a chance to wear it for a couple of weeks so I can report back on how I like it.

First off, the packaging is just divine with its rose gold casing in a retro ribbed texture – what’s an added benefit about this detail is that the tube doesn’t roll off a table!CTBitchPerfect6
The Charolotte Tilbury name is even etched into the upper portion of the casing:CTBitchPerfect3
Secondly, the shade name is just so awesome.
Bitch Perfect is a warm nude pink with a hint of golden shimmer:
The official name of the lipstick is K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Fallen From The Lipstick Tree and the formula is supposed to protect from UV damage and contain antioxidant from the “lipstick tree” (Bixa orellana seed extract).  I would call it a satin finish, not sheer but not high pigment either:
I’ve worn it alone and mixed with other lip products – my prefered way to wear this is with Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector.  I find that the formula applies nicely to the lips with opaque colour and feels comfortable upon initial application.  As it wears though, I find myself feeling the bits of shimmer on my lips, as well, I do find it progressively drying.  When I wear it with the Clarins Lip Perfector, it’s a lot more comfortable through the 3 hrs or so wear time.  This is what the bullet looks like after being used for a couple of weeks – see the texture from the shimmer:
In my collection, these are the most similar shades to Bitch Perfect:
L to R:
• Prestige Love & Kisses Lipstick in Kiss Me (LE)
Estee Lauder Pure Color in #01 Crystal Baby
Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect
Guerlain Rouge G Lip Color in #06 Garance
Buxom Full-On Lip Stick in Amsterdam
Nothing is exact but the Estee Lauder is the closest – it’s more sheer and slightly warmer.  For me, out of these, I enjoy the formulas of the Estee Lauder and Guerlain Rouge G over the Charlotte Tilbury – they are just more comfortable to wear all day, even without the use of a lip balm underneath.  Part of the reason could be the shade I chose having shimmer – I bet the colours without shimmer would feel a lot smoother.  The colour suits me very well though – I even had compliments on my lipstick when I wore it!

• beautifully presented
• light vanilla scent
• wearable flattering colour
• opaque formula
• feels comfortable upon initial application
• lasts for 3 hrs

• slightly drying
• shimmer feels a little gritty

Stash worthiness: 8/10

Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks? What are your thoughts?

  1. I bet you must have had fun being able to freely curse throughout this post haha! It’s almost like the color of blushes that I like. It reminded me of a toned down NARS Orgasm especially because of the gold shimmer.

    1. Teehee, it’s just so funny that CT is quite a classy looking brand and then the name BITCH! Yes, now that you mentioned it, it is a little Nars Orgasm-y with the pinky peach and gold shimmer. It’s very flattering on most skin tones.

  2. It looks amazing and has been on my wishlist for forever (now I can at least blame you if I buy it ;).
I love that you have so many similar colors 🙂 Very consistent 😀

      1. Yeah I picked up Pillow Talk! I really like it! Its such a perfect natural lip shade that really does enhance your lip shape! The formula is really nice too! It would probably go really nice with Bitch Perfect!

        1. Oh I think they did show me that Lip Cheat – yes the colour was very similar to Bitch Perfect. I had to be good and only get this! I will certainly be back at the CT counter in the new year though! 😉

  3. DAMN I didn’t think I would like that color as much as I do! And the shimmer! As you know I also tried a CT recently (Stoned Rose) and while I mostly love the formula — it makes my lips look so plump, I think it’s that fancy shimmer — that nice finish doesn’t last more than 3-4 hrs. I didn’t find it drying, but yeah, I prefer some other lipstick formulas. Too bad, ’cause the color is perfect and the packaging is to die for.

    1. I guess my tolerance for lipsticks is lower than yours since I mostly stick with lip butters – my test is when I rub my lips together if there’s any slip. I also check to see if my lip lines are accentuated or not. I will likely not buy this formula any time soon but never say never! 😛

      1. Yeah, I’m an opaque cream/matte lipstick girl, all the way! Never really got into the lip butters and sheers, though I do have a few I like (Clinique, Clarins).

I was going to try one of the CT mattes that just came out, but I’m so tempted by Bitch Perfect now. 😀 Ah well, I should not be buying more lipstick, anyway.

  4. This is a great review, the name of the lipstick gets me everytime lol. The golden shimmer on the lipstick looks beautiful and gives the lipstick the pop that it needs. I also love how you say other shades that are similar to the lipstick, are those shades around the same price?

    1. Good question – the comparable lipsticks are all over the place in their prices! It ranges from similar prices (the Estee Lauder and Buxom) to lower drugstore brand, (Prestige) and luxury brand (Guerlain). So, basically this colour can be found at all price points!

  5. Omg this lipstick is so beautiful! I’ve been wanting this one for a long time and I just need to splurge on myself one of these days and get it. I also love the packaging and the name! 🙂 xo

  6. This lipstick is SO gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to invest in a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and I think this will have to be the one I choose, it’s just so beautiful! I can’t get over the packaging! Also, all of the other similar shades look amazing!

  7. I think my lemmings on CT lipstick was cut to an end when I found out that the only way to purchase it is go online. 😔
If I’ll sum everything up, might as well choose TF which is available here.

    1. Hmm yeah if you add in the shipping and duties, it probably doesn’t make sense. I’m like that with a lot of items that I can only order online – most of the time it’s not worth it for me, especially with the current USD to CAD exchange rate!

  8. I’ve been shocked twice! Once when you said it’s drying which never happened to me not even when I wore the lip liners and then when I realised it had glitter particles in it, which I’m not the biggest fan of ( except for no more than two brands !)! 😳
Oh well, I might just skip this one after all!

    1. I know, I didn’t realize it had shimmer in it from testing it at the store either. I find that shimmer lipsticks do tend to be more drying in general too… I’m not writing off CT lipsticks, I will likely try a cream shade in the future. I’m glad this review helped you save some money for other CT items! 😛
