What I Got for Christmas 2016

I hope you all had a good Christmas! It’s great that Christmas day fell on Sunday – we have Boxing Day off (yesterday) and we get an extra day off since Christmas day was on the weekend. So we don’t have to go back to work until Wednesday. 🙂 It’s the tradition now to talk about what everyone got for Christmas so here it is – I’m posting stock photos because who has time to take proper photos during the holidays?

I laughed so hard at this facsimile of the Netflix logo. He told me that he did it in his office at work on Friday – he pulled up the Netflix logo on his computer screen and freehand drew that. And this is why he’s the bestest. 😛

He also gave me this glitter bomb Hello Kitty card:

The Snowcastle soap smells amazing!!! I saw that it was part of LUSH’s 50% off sale on Boxing Day but it was all sold out by the time I went online. Ah well, I hope they bring this scent back next year.

    1. I was so surprised at the Gudetama Mug – my bf got that for me. I guess he pays attention when I oogle at Gudetama stuff!
      No I didn’t manage to get anything from the LUSH sale, sadly! Ah well. I do have a lot of body care stuff that I need to use up first anyway. Did you get anything from Boxing Day sales?

      1. My stash of body stuff seems to get down to a good level then Christmas arrives and I get soap and glory and lush. I did manage to get some snow fairy and Twilight online as well as a few ballistics and bubble bars but I was so rushed I forget which ones! I was so surprised when I went in the site and it said 23,000 people before me in the queue at 10:30, took till 5 to get onto the site! My parents went shopping today and went into a lush, said it looked like it had been raised but did get a ruby red slippers and sugar plum lip tint I wanted to try, seems like this year lush was cleared out pretty fast.

        1. Oh wow! I had no idea there were queues for LUSH Boxing Day sale! 😆 I wasn’t able to get online until much later in the day since we were driving and by the time I got onto the Canadian site, most of the buy 1 get 1 free and 50% off items were gone. I guess I’ll learn for next year! 😛

          1. I think they started it last year on the UK website as the years before it kept crashing and saying things were in stock that weren’t. I had it up on three things in case I missed my turn by mistake and it kept pausing every so often because the site went down. Everything was half price and I know in the past in the UK gifts made before a certain date in store are also in it. I got a few good ones in the past with that. Other years there’s still been some gifts left in stores near me in February but I don’t see that happening this year!

    1. I too, love reading about what everyone received for Christmas! 🙂 It’s good to enjoy a rest. I’m back at work tomorrow but at least it’s going to be really quiet which I prefer. I’ll be cleaning up my desk which is piled with paper from all year! 😆

    Oh man, I get a pair of earbuds for Christmas almost every year, because I always lose/break mine…

    This was the first year I heard about Gudetama, when two of our friends came back from Japan all obsessed with him! He is both cute and depressing because he’s always so lethargic, haha!

    Oooh, you got the Zoeva brush set you wanted! *throws confetti*

    And yeeeah to the Netflix subscription! It’s the bestest. So cute that the SO drew the coupon for you! And love the Hello Kitty glitter bomb card!

    1. I’m so psyched about the Netflix subscription! It was hilarious that he drew that coupon. It got cut off in the photo but it read “redeem for a year’s subscription* … no case value” 😆

      I only learned about Gudetama too late – I saw him in Japan but didn’t grasp what he was about. Only after I came back, I came to appreciate his apathy and laziness! 😛 I also got a little pen holder / bookmark thing that wrap him in a “blanket” made of BACON!

      The Zoeva set is sooooo pretty in real life. My SIL gave that to me (off my wish list) – she ordered it off Amazon I think. It came with a pouch but I gave it to her because god knows I don’t need another makeup bag and she liked the pouch a lot. 😛

      1. My fiance bought me a one year subscription for Netflix for my birthday maybe…two years ago? We’ve never looked back! You’ll love it!
        Oooh, are you planning on doing a review of the brushes?
        Also, I love the idea of adult colouring books! Every time I walk by, I always ogle at them. But I know realistically that I’ll never make time to actually colour in them 😦

        1. Yes, I’ll likely review the brushes at some point! I find brushes really difficult to photograph though.
          I’ve been on the HUNT for a good adult colouring book. However, I didn’t like most of them since the pages weren’t spiral bound or tearable out of the books. Then I caught wind of the card + envelope set – this makes the “artwork” a usable item. Perhaps you can expect something in the mail one of these days… 😉

    1. Yes, on the wish list was the Zoeva eye set but I like this one a lot too! It’s always a challenge to find small sized face brushes. I’m debating whether to take that mug to work or keep it safe at home. On the inside of the mug is a shot of Gudetama’s butt! 😆

    1. I really love their shea butter body lotion and shower gels. Their room fragrance oil (plug ins) are really great too. It’s difficult to recommend a specific scent since their selection changes all the time! Your best bet is to go into the store to smell them in person!

    1. I saw that Fossil bracelet online and asked for it from my MIL – she’s so cute, she printed off the picture and shows it to the sales person. She said the girl at the store was so grateful for the picture because so many people go in trying to describe what they were looking for. Nothing like a photo!

      There are SO many shows on Netflix that have been recommended to me but the one that is top of my list is Stranger Things. What would you recommend?

        I’ve got a list of shows I’ve really loved from show me- stranger things is good – Daredevil is good – but my fave right now is black mirror

    1. I love that he put the effort and personal touch in the Netflix drawing – I personally would have printed it off just because it’s quicker and looks more “official”.
      Holidays were great – hope your were too! I was back at work today and it was a ghost town… I did a bit of work and then went for a long “lunch” (at the mall) 😉

    1. I have this thing about art that just hang on the wall (or not at all – usually those things just stay hidden). I like things that get used… hence why I like knitting and jewellery making!
      The initial thoughts – they’re so soft! And better made than Signma brushes. Stay tuned…

    How does that Lush shower jelly work? Do you just like rip off a chunk of it? :confused:

    Do you have a plan for what you’re going to watch on Netflix? In the case that you need some suggestions, I’d recommend Breaking Bad, Kimmy Schmidt, House of Cards, and Stranger Things. 😉

      Yes, you break off little bit of the shower jelly and lather it up. The best way is to use a foaming net like this:

      Or one of those puffs could work but you don’t want the jelly to run away from you… 😛

      I have some ideas of shows based on what everyone is raving about. Top of my list is Stranger Things! We have seen all of Breaking Bad (loved it!) and the first season of House of Cards (couldn’t get into it and didn’t proceed any further).
