Hauluary 2018 – Online Orders

These are an accumulation of online orders from since late December until now…
Some parcels were shipped from local sources while others came all the way from China and Japan. ๐
You may recall that the primary objective of this blog originally was to reduce my beauty stash. I had a three-pronged plan:
A) Stop buying more (No-Buy / Low-Buy)
B) Use up what I have (empties aka Trash Stash)
C) Get rid of items that I no longer use (Purges / declutters)
This post is focused on plan of attack C!ย I’ve been meaning to post this since early 2017 for “Spring cleaning”, but never got my act together to gather all of the items.ย No time like now, right?ย ๐ This post will mainly consist of photos and product names listed out. It would take too long to provide a description of every single item with an explanation why it is being decluttered. Just look:
Hold onto your hats!
Here’s a combined Trash Stash post for the last 2 months of 2017:
I initially felt that my steam dwindled a bit toward the end of the year to finish up products but once I started to list them out, I found that I did finish quite a few items in the last 2 months.ย I decided to do a big post instead of separating into 2 posts, so grab a cup of hot tea. โ
Happy New Year! โค
This post idea came up last year when I posted my yearly favourite discoveries.ย I did discover some gems in 2017 but I thought it would be more useful for me to list out all my Holy Grail (HG) items instead.
I’m going to force myself to just name ONE item for each category.ย I feel like embarking on this project is like choosing a favourite child. I love you all equally! โค Continue reading
It’s been nice reading everyone’s festive holiday posts but this year I just don’t seem to have anything Christmas-y to contribute. I feel like I’ve covered all the Christmas topics in years past – if you’re wanting some festive posts from me, have a read through my Blogmas posts from 2016 and 2015. ๐ ๐๐
When I get the question, “How do you apply your foundation?”ย I answer, “It depends.”ย ย I’m not trying to be difficult, because it really depends! ๐ย It depends on the foundation that I’m using. It depends on what kind of finish I might be looking for, or the level of coverage I want that particular day.ย Here’s an overview of methods and tools that I employ to apply foundation.
I’ll also name some foundations that work well with each method.
It’s always a mad race at the end of the month to have all my trash presented nicely and the give their final photograph before they’re tossed out! XD
I’m a bit nervous about whether I hit my target of one per day quota…
What an epic journey! When I first agreed to do Project Pan, I thought it was going to be FUN. Oh how wrong I was. This is the song that went through my head (sang to the tune of “The Song That Never Ends“):
This is the Collab that never ends
It just goes on and on my friends
I agree to doing it, not knowing what it was
And I’m wearing the same makeup for 3 months because…
{repeat from top}
๐ I’m teasing. I did enjoy doing Project Pan, especially doing it alongside my collab buddies! ๐
And I’m really proud of myself for sticking to these products and diligently using them 5 out of 7 days, at minimum.
I skipped September Trash Stash due to post-vacation lethargy and the reevaluation of my life: Why am I not on vacation still? Why is anyone even interested in looking at my beauty empties? Why am I here? Then I snapped out of it and got back into the swing of things. ๐
As my punishment, I now have to root through 2 months’ worth of garbage. At least, I’m not like someone (I won’t say who) with 6 months’ worth of empties to post! ๐ฎ
All the cool kids are doing it these days. I think a weekly round-up postย could beย helpful for those of you who might not be able to browse blogs all week. My hope is to not only provide a centralizedย place to summarize all myย posts from the past week, but provide some additional tidbits.
Project Pan 12: KATE Stick Concealer in Natural Beige
Stick concealers are notoriously challenging – here’s one that is multi-functional and it works well under the eyes too.
This is the last of my catch-up posts for Project Pan. I’ll be back in sync next Monday. ๐
Today I’m taking a closer look at an item that has made a few appearances on the blog before but never hadย its own limelight – the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 06 Garance:
While I like some higher end makeup brands, I’m by no means into “designer” makeup brands. ย I don’t own any “signature” lipsticks from the likes of YSL, Chanel, Dior… the Guerlain Rouge G is the most expensive lipstick I own (I also have another shade, #863 Provocative, a limited edition from 2013 in a black tube) and it cost me C$52 back in 2013 for this. They now retail for C$59 for 3.5g of product. ๐ฎ
