I showed this unlabeled OPI polish in my birthday haul recently:
I applied this on my toes over the weekend and it’s bugging the heck out of me that I don’t know what the colour is. There was no label on the bottle. Can you help me identify it?
I’ve challenged myself to commit to one nail polish post per week, since I’ve got so many untrieds in my stash! I change my nail polish on a weekly basis but I’m not always disciplined enough to take photos of the manicure. I’m hoping to change that! This week I’m sharing with you the mani that I wore last week, OPI Go With The Lava Flow.
This shade was part of the OPI Hawaii collection from Spring 2015. I picked this polish up for $5 when I hauled a bunch of OPIs.
I have to give full credit to Anne of Doves and Roses for putting this nail polish on my radar. I had never heard of this colour until I saw it on her blog, just look at this pretty thing:
Essie describes this shade as a “cool Grey-Green”, which is fairly accurate. This shade was part of the Spring 2013 collection called “Madison Ave-Hue” with shades named after shopping areas around the world. Names in the collection include “Go Ginza” (Tokyo), and “Avenue Maintain” (Paris). The name of this polish refers to the shopping area in Maximilianstraße, Munich. It appears that this particular shade made it over to the permanent line as it is still readily available.
This post is sooooo late. I posted about the Body Shop Flash Sale back on May 11th – it was a one day sale for 50% off on makeup. I bought the makeup items that same day but didn’t get around to posting it until now… only 6 weeks later! 😛 Last week I also got 2 more items as they were having 50% sale on clearance items. This is unusual for me, this polish is the newest in my collection and I decided to wear it almost right away. Usually polishes languish in my untrieds pile for months and months… but this is just so different and beautiful in its bottle that I had to get it on my nails pronto!
Teeez Nail Lacquer in Melted Copper is a metallic corally copper with a scattered holographic shimmer.
While getting my morning coffee this morning, I walked by the nearby Body Shop store and learned that there’s a flash sale for 50% off makeup. This includes makeup, brushes, nail polishes and even makeup & polish removers!
*sigh* And what’s a makeup addict to to? I haven’t bought anything yet but I plan to stop in at lunch or after work. Here’s what I’m thinking.
I purchased this during the Zoya Free 4 You sale back in January, where you selected 4 polishes of your choice for free and just pay for shipping and handling. A couple of weeks ago, I finally wore the first of the 4 – the shade Zara.
This was a somewhat significant event since I had mostly gotten rid of all my Zoya nail polishes and had not worn a Zoya for years. I found that in general, Zoya polishes didn’t last as long on me, they would chip really badly and on some occasion, peel off in sheets. With this great deal, I decided it was time to give Zoyas another try since they offer some fairly unique colours.
I heard about Teeez Cosmetics being available at Hudson’s Bay from Jodi of A Brash Attitude a couple of weeks ago. Then I happen to walk by the Beauty Underground section in the Bay downtown and saw the new counter that has been set up (sadly, it replaced the Anna Sui counter! 😦 AS is still available at select Beauty Boutiques at Shoppers though). Although the counter is quite sparse looking right now, the eye catching packaging of the Teeez Cosmetics products more than makes up for it. I had a nice chat with the SA and I ended up getting these items:
Aren’t they so fun? When I first saw the packaging, I thought they looked like a mix of Urban Decay and Benefit Cosmetics.
I bought this in January as part of my NailPolishCanada order at the beginning of my month-long nail polish acquisition madness. 😉
How could I refuse a nail polish that may or may not be named after a Simpson’s reference?
