And here it is – as you can imagine, trying to narrow down the best items was difficult! These items are new to me but may not be new launches in 2016. Also, these items may not necessarily be my absolute “Holy Grail” of all time – they’re simply the best from the past year (I probably should do a “Holy Grail of All Time” post one of these days…) Here’s what made it into my Best of 2016 Discoveries list:
A departure from previous years, instead of doing Top 10 or “Top xx of 20xx” (ie. Top 16 of 2016), I’ll list top items within categories: makeup, skincare, nails, body care etc. This post is long but rather than breaking into several posts, I decided to do it all in one – I just hate it when they break movies into 2 parts – I don’t want to do that to you! 😛
Since I skipped May’s accountability post, I’m lumping both months together. Let’s recap, in April, I was able to carry over $122.48. My combined budget for May and June was $100. So in total, I had $222.48 to play with. Let’s see how I did. First, let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way, I hauled BIG time in Japan:
But in the rule books of Low-Buys, out of country purchases do not count. I didn’t create the rules, I just follow them, mkay? 😉 But I did a lot of shopping at home too, especially prior to my trip…
I’m really back-logged with my posts as you can see, as this was meant to be posted before I left for vacation, but I didn’t have time to take photos. Ah well, better late than never! 😉
So I wasn’t really planning on doing much makeup shopping before my trip but I’ve been finding some AMAZING stuff at Winners! I just couldn’t NOT buy this stuff:
Burberry! Armani! Nars! Paul & Joe! Nail polishes from the newest collections! I couldn’t even fit everything into the frame. 😀 I’ll start off with the craziest (aka the best!) things:
I’m baaaack. 🙂 Thanks for all the well wishes last week! I’m about 50% better simply because it’s unavoidable for me to not be on the computer at work. I’m looking into an ergonomic assessment for my desk, and possibly doing some physio. I’ll be scaling back on my posting slightly but it’s challenging because I have so many backlogged posts! This is the first check-in for my 2016 Low-Buy. For February, I allocated $50 to spend on makeup. I managed to stay within my budget! 😀
My first makeup purchase of February was in my LUSH haul at the beginning of the month where I bought the Sophisticated Cream Eyeshadow for $19.95
I had $30.05 left after that.
I’m trying to come up with post titles that don’t involve the word “haul”… it’s getting a bit repetitive. But repetitive doesn’t necessarily mean boring, right? 😉 Today I bring you some Paul & Joe Beauté loot:

After receiving this present, I was compelled to go to the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) that carries the Paul & Joe line, and upon laying eyes on the glory of their display, lost my mind, blacked out for a bit, only waking up to find myself thrusting my credit card at the cashier. It was all my friend’s fault! 😛
