Check out my collab post with Joyce! It’s all about my visit to Turkey when I was on the cruise. ๐
I’m all caught up now! Back in synch with the rest of the Project Pan crew! ๐ And it’s also the half way point to our 12 week project.

Today we’re looking at the still relatively new Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation in 020 Bali Vanilla:

I bought this foundation on a whim back in March when this was newly launched. This costs C$25 for 30ml.
All the cool kids are doing it these days. I think a weekly round-up postย could beย helpful for those of you who might not be able to browse blogs all week. My hope is to not only provide a centralizedย place to summarize all myย posts from the past week, but provide some additional tidbits.
Project Pan 12: KATE Stick Concealer in Natural Beige

Stick concealers are notoriously challenging – here’s one that is multi-functional and it works well under the eyes too.
In late August, I received a few items from Nuworld Botanicals to try:

I did not select the specific items – I described a few of my likes and dislikes, along with my skin type and concerns – and left it up to Nuworld Botanicals to surprise me! ๐ Today I’m reviewing the first item that I’ve been testing for the past month, theย Cold-pressed Organic Sea buckthorn & Jojoba oil:

If you’ve been a reader of this blog, you’ll know that I love oils for all sorts of beautifying aspects: cleansing, hydrating and protecting. So how does this oil fromย Nuword Botanical stack up against other oils I’ve tried?
This is the last of my catch-up posts for Project Pan. I’ll be back in sync next Monday. ๐

Today I’m taking a closer look at an item that has made a few appearances on the blog before but never hadย its own limelight – the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 06 Garance:

While I like some higher end makeup brands, I’m by no means into “designer” makeup brands. ย I don’t own any “signature” lipsticks from the likes of YSL, Chanel, Dior… the Guerlain Rouge G is the most expensive lipstick I own (I also have another shade, #863 Provocative, a limited edition from 2013 in a black tube) and it cost me C$52 back in 2013 for this. They now retail for C$59 for 3.5g of product. ๐ฎ
Today we have something different on the blog – a guest post by Joyce of Local Girl Foreign Land! Her blog is primarily about travel, with smattering of lifestyleย and snack subscription boxes. Back in July, we got chatting about the possibility of doing a cross-over type of post, whereby she reviewed a makeup item on my blog, and I post about a travel destination on her blog. And here we are! Here’s Joyce, in her own words:
The colours are BEAUTIFUL and beam like there is no tomorrow. All 4 are metallic highlighters.

It’s Canadian Thanksgiving Day today! Happy Turkey Day to my fellow Canadians. Yes, we celebrate Thanksgiving way earlier than the US. Find out why here.ย Onto regular programming – an update on Project Pan!

KATE is a Japanese brand that I had some exposure toย when I visited Hong Kong about 5 years ago. ย It is owned by Kanebo, the conglomerate that also owns Lunasol and Sensai. KATE is their lower-end drugstore range. Today I’m showing the Stick Concealer in Natural Beige:

I got interested in this product because people raved about how it is a cheaper alternative for the cult favourite Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer. For those not familiar with that – it is supposed to be The Concealer to End All Concealers. ย It alsoย has a hefty price tag to matchย – it costs $70 USD (approx C$90 at current exchange rate), while the KATE Stick Concealerย costs only ยฅ1,000 (approx C$12.50) for 3.1g of product. ย I was intrigued so I ordered this online in early 2014.
I decided not to do a Trash Stash (empties) post for September since I’m so backlogged with posts but I definitely want to squeeze in my accountability for the month. Here are some of the items that got added to my stash:

To refresh, for the month of September, I had -$91.68 balance left in my budget. Yup, you read that correctly, I was in the hole. No makeup spending for me. But luckily, I went on vacation in September so the “Vacation Clause” kicked in, as is universally known. ๐
I’m playing catch-up with the Project Panย items so that’s why I’m doing two PP12 entries this week.

Today we’re looking at the not very well known Shiseido highlighter called High Beam White.

Shiseido does not call this a highlighter per se, it’s inconspicuously grouped in with their Luminizing Satin Face Color range, which are their blushes. Shisido also offers a golden highlighter shade in the same line, called Soft Beam Gold. At last check on both the US and Canadian website, I do not see High Beam White listed anymore so I’m fairly certain that this is discontinued! ๐ Typical! I paid C$38 for this compact, which contains 6.5g of product.
You know, I really didn’t set out to haul makeup during my cruise trip but then Ms Polished and Inspired reminded me that makeup purchases made while on vacation do not count toward my Low-Buy, so thoughts of makeup seeped into brain while I was vacationing in the Mediterranean. I blame her. Here’s the damage:

Honestly, not too bad. ๐
