Helloooo, I’m baaaaack! 🙂
I’ve been back since last week and getting back into reading blogs a bit here and there… it’s always a challenge to get back into blogging for some reason. I think it’s about routine. Having 2 weeks of unstructured time really makes it difficult to follow a schedule again.
Anyway, this post is about my trip! I debated about the level of detail to include about my Japan trip – this isn’t a travel blog and I’m no travel writer. So I’ll devote a few posts to the trip itself: today will be an overview of where we visited with photos. I’ll do another post on random stuff like food and cultural stuff. Then, the MAKEUP!!! 😀 😀 😀

We started our trip out with a 5 day stay in Tokyo:

1. Do you celebrate Easter?
Yes. Although the root of Easter is a religious holiday (and some would argue even more significant than Christmas), I feel it’s such a cultural / commercialized holiday, most people seem to “celebrate” Easter simply by stuffing themselves full of chocolate. 😛

Something different today instead of a review – I haven’t done a Tag in ages. I saw this on The Makeup Case and had to do my own spin on it. 😉

What is your middle name?
Hoarder. Stash Hoarder Matters is my name, don’t wear it out! 😛

What was your favorite subject in school?
In high school I really loved Industrial Arts or erm it used to be called “Shop” class. I made a wooden bowl on the lathe, and a wooden piggy bank. It was an awesome class!

What is your favorite drink?

I’ve answered this before elsewhere so I’ll name another one I like: Jack fruit shake. I get this from our local Vietnamese restaurant and it is so refreshing. It tastes kind of like Neapolitan ice cream but lighter.

What is your favorite song at the moment?
I’ve had “Follow You Follow Me” in my head for a few weeks ever since I saw the animated short “Lily & the Snowman” from Cineplex!

Does anyone remember the comic strip called “Love Is…“?  I remember them mainly because my parents had a bunch of prints of them and I always thought they were so cute, yet a little naughty.  I mean, they’re 2 butt-ass naked characters and it was acceptable? 😉

Sometime around 10 this morning, my comments on other people’s blogs started to not post.  When I hit reply, the comment would disappear – leading me to believe that they were going into the recipients’ spam box.  Thanks to Jodi of A Brash Attitude, who verified for me that my comments were indeed going into her spam box.  It’s also been verified on a few other blogs that for some mysterious reason, my comments are being flagged as spam! I’m no spammer, I’m Stashy! 😛

Pear pancakes with blueberry sauce

During blogmas, I mentioned that we have pear pancakes with blueberry sauce for Christmas breakfast.  I received a lot of questions about them, so I thought I’d find out for you what the recipe is!  It turns out it wasn’t a standard recipe found online – it was one that my MIL cobbled together.  And it’s really simple:

Pear Pancake

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 large egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 pear, peeled and coursely grated (Bosc is a good variety)

Happy Boxing Day!

Today is Boxing Day in Canada, which is our version of “Black Friday”.  We get this day off work as a holiday too (I only recently found out that this is not the case in other countries!).  Since Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year, we get this coming Monday off instead – I also took Tuesday off since I have some leftover vacation days.  This means… extra long weekend and SHOPPING! 😀
