Blogmas Day 11: Christmas Traditions

Today will be a more personal post. I’ve had comments asking for my name and my picture – I don’t share them on the blog for privacy reasons. It honestly shouldn’t matter if my name is Seraphina, or if I may possibly have a third eye (hey, that just means more eye shadow looks!). 😉 But sometimes it’s nice to know a little more about who I am.

In order to talk about today’s collab topic, Christmas Traditions, I’ll have to tell you a bit about my childhood.  It’s story time – gather ’round!

Blogmas Day 10: Holiday party looks

I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that I don’t attend a lot of holiday parties.  BUT I love the idea of dressing up and looking at party dresses. 😛 And who is a better inspiration for party dresses than BARBIE?!

Look at how glam she is!  No sure if this is what my Babes in Blogland had in mind when they suggested this topic for collaboration, but today, I’ll showcase Barbie’s holiday party looks. 🙂

Blogmas Day 9: Christmas sweets

It’s so secret that I have a sweet tooth. Christmas is the perfect season to indulge and, every year, come December 1st, I get my eating on!

I tell this story to people all the time, I love candies so much that when I was little, I used to save candy wrappers. 😀 I’d unwrap the candy, pop the candy into my mouth, then proceed to smooth out the wrapper and flatten it as much as possible.  Then I’d get out my special candy wrapper box and place it carefully inside.  And whenever I was jonesing for candies, I’d open up the box, smell the wrappers or just admire the pretty colourful sheets.

If only I’d saved those – I could have made purses with them! 😛

Blogmas Day 7: Favourite Christmas Songs

Would you believe that I used to sing in the church choir?  Yup. As a tween I liked to sing but I am really not that good of a singer, so over the years I sing less and less. But I do secretly still love singing to Christmas songs. I even have a special playlist full of Christmas tunes that I look forward to playing come December (there’s a local radio station that plays 100% Christmas songs from Nov 25th till Christmas!)  There are so many renditions of popular Christmas songs, and I have some favourite versions to share today.

Sephora VIB $20 off $50

Like clockwork this offer dropped in my inbox on Tuesday. I guess Sephora is pretty regimented in their annual offers – unless they want customers to revolt!  I offered my Sephora VIB coupon to my coworker who wanted to buy some Christmas presents so we went off to the mall on Friday to shop and this is what she bought:

Marc Jacobs Decadence (will you just look at the bottle? It’s like a purse! I love it.)

Blogmas Day 6: Christmas Cards

I love greeting cards. I love looking at them. I love collecting them.

And most of all, I love giving them!  Christmas time is the best time for a greeting card fiend like me (ecards just don’t hack it!).

Blogmas Day 5: Real or Fake?

Real or Fake… Christmas trees, that is! 😉
Blogmas_day6_tree1
Some people are diehard real Christmas tree devotees. Others aren’t so fussed. There are pros and cons to both. I’m rather simple myself…

Pantone colour(s) of the year: Rose Quartz & Serenity

TWO colours were announced this year!
Pantone2016
Rose Quartz (Pantone 13-1520) and Serenity (Pantone 15-3919)

Interestingly, this is the first year Pantone has selected 2 colours, and both colours offer a host of possibilities in the cosmetics world.  I can imagine a gorgeous blush palette with various Rose Quartz-ish shades, and Serenity would make beautiful eye and nail products. 😀  In one of my TBT posts, I guessed that Pantone might choose either a yellow or a blue. I got 50% right! 😛
