This time we are choosing 12 items to try to pan / empty. The length of this project will be for 3 months, all the way until December! 🙂
Today we’ll be introducing you to the items we selected for this project.
A few weeks ago I asked for your suggestions for Back to MAC and I finally went this past weekend. I did not go alone though, I enlisted the help of Cat of MyLipAddiction.com, who I’ve officially named my Personal Lip Consultant (aka PLC). Since I had 12 empties, I originally thought about redeeming for 1 lipstick and 1 eye shadow. However, though events that will be explained later in the post, I redeemed for 2 lipsticks instead:

I’m baaaack. 🙂 Thanks for all the well wishes last week! I’m about 50% better simply because it’s unavoidable for me to not be on the computer at work. I’m looking into an ergonomic assessment for my desk, and possibly doing some physio. I’ll be scaling back on my posting slightly but it’s challenging because I have so many backlogged posts! This is the final summary post of the Project Focus 10 collaboration! Firstly, I want to thank the awesome collab crew of Ingrid, Joy and Jodi! It has been so much fun doing this project with you! 😀
So, how did I do in the Project Focus? If I was to grade myself in terms of sticking to using the items I chose, I’d give myself a B. It’s a solid grade but it isn’t going to get me on the Honour Roll. 😛 Unlike some of my collab buddies, I did not finish any of the 10 items up during this project, but I intend to continue working on them! Here’s a recap and current state of things.

I have this in 01 Light and it is available in 3 shades, ranging from fair to medium skin tone. It retails for $62 for a 40ml tube and is available at Hudson’s Bay and select Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques.
New year, new collaboration! This is another brainchild of miss Ingrid (aka Curly.Spring.Blossom) who approached me with a 10 week long blog series called Project Focus 10. The idea of this series is to focus on beauty products to try to either use them up, or give them more attention:
• 10 weeks
• 10 beauty products we have never reviewed, that we want to focus on or hit pan
• 10 different product categories
There are 4 of us doing this collab so that means we’ll be showcasing 40 products! How awesome is that? 🙂

I blame Kaily for this one. She came up with this topic and both Sharon and I scratched our collective heads as to how to interpret this. What the heck IS Christmas Tree makeup? So I’m taking the cheater creative approach and doing a gold theme makeup look, because hey, some people have an all gold Christmas tree, ok:

Today is another coordinated Blogmas post where we’re pulling items from our makeup collections to create a snowy makeup look.
To me, a snow themed makeup means 2 things: white and sparkly!
This isn’t just any ol’ gift ideas post – I’ll focus on gift ideas for the beauty addict – because that’s what I know best! 😛 There are 2 schools of thought on gift giving for beauty items: buy practical things that you know the person uses up and would want a replenishment. Or, buy things which perhaps are a little frivolous and the person might not buy for herself. I don’t see any issues with either of those strategies, you can even give a mix from each categories – so here are my gift ideas divided into: Sensible and Sensational. 😉
I’m not a fan of pre-packaged gift sets – I think it’s more thoughtful to pick items and package them together yourself. I’m going to keep the gift ideas capped to below $100 so it’s realistic!

Since everyone is posting their Black Friday loot, I thought I’d post my Optimum Points Spend Your Points loot! I did go into Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) armed with a shopping list, let’s see how well I did sticking to the plan:
Firstly, I ended up redeeming for $300 worth of products instead of $200. I had accumulated more points since hitting the top tier a little while back. And since I’ve been positively deprived of new beauty products all year long (too dramatic?) that I went all out and depleted my Optimum Points balance. It was worth it! 😀
