Massive Purge

You may recall that the primary objective of this blog originally was to reduce my beauty stash. ^^’ I had a three-pronged plan:
A) Stop buying more (No-Buy / Low-Buy)
B) Use up what I have (empties aka Trash Stash)
C) Get rid of items that I no longer use (Purges / declutters)

This post is focused on plan of attack C!ย  I’ve been meaning to post this since early 2017 for “Spring cleaning”, but never got my act together to gather all of the items.ย  No time like now, right?ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰ This post will mainly consist of photos and product names listed out. It would take too long to provide a description of every single item with an explanation why it is being decluttered. Just look:

I had to stand on a step ladder to take this photo! ๐Ÿ˜†

Trash Stash: May 2017

This month was the month of finishing up a lot of facial skincare:

I finished both my day and night creams, plus a bunch of other essential face product. So weird how that happens.

PP12: Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick in Garance

This is the last of my catch-up posts for Project Pan. I’ll be back in sync next Monday. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I’m taking a closer look at an item that has made a few appearances on the blog before but never hadย its own limelight – the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 06 Garance:

While I like some higher end makeup brands, I’m by no means into “designer” makeup brands. ย I don’t own any “signature” lipsticks from the likes of YSL, Chanel, Dior… the Guerlain Rouge G is the most expensive lipstick I own (I also have another shade, #863 Provocative, a limited edition from 2013 in a black tube) and it cost me C$52 back in 2013 for this. They now retail for C$59 for 3.5g of product. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Trash Stash: July 2016

It’s a holiday here today. It’s just called a Civic Holiday but the meaning varies depending where you live in Canada. In BC, it’s called British Columbia Day, in Alberta it’s called Heritage Day… very specifically, in the city of Toronto, it’s Simcoe Day. Simcoe Day is named after John Graves Simcoe, who founded the town of York, Upper Canada, which became Toronto. He was also the first lieutenant governor of the province. Now you know! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Onward to the July Trash Stash:

I’d call this month a pretty average month in terms of using things up, except for ONE epic empty that I’ve been working away at for YEARS.

Miscellaneous Makeup Purge

You may recall that last year I did an epic makeup purge!ย  ย And earlier this year I posted a base makeup and a lip product purge – the common theme on those 2 product categories is that they’re liquid items, with typically shorter lifespan than powders. ย Today I have a mixture of various product categories including eye, lip, and skincare products – many of which are also liquid or gel formulas.

The reason why these are in a separate purge post rather than included in my Trash Stash is because none of these items are finished / empty. Some items I loved but are too old to use anymore. Sadly, the majority of them will go into the garbage!

Trash Stash: May & June 2016

Happy July 4th to my American friends! Hope you’re enjoying the extra day off. We Canadians just came out of a long weekend and are cursing you guys right now… ๐Ÿ˜†

Since I missed May’s Trash Stash, this is a combined empties post for both months. Hold onto your hats!

I finished some long-time favourites and items that have been with me for years.

April 2016 Low-Buy Accountability

I had anticipated April would have been a crazy month of haulage due to the Sephora VIB sale but that didn’t turn out to be the case. ย I had $252.74 in my April budget to start off with.

In the Sephora sale, I boughtย only 4 items, and I ended up returning one of them:

My original total was $83.30 but after returning the busted BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask, I only ended up spending only $52.70 atย the VIB sale.

Favourites Lately: Early 2016

I’m baaaack. ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Thanks for all the well wishes last week! ย I’m about 50% better simply because it’s unavoidable for me to not be on the computer at work. I’m looking into an ergonomic assessment for my desk, and possibly doing some physio. I’ll be scaling back on my posting slightly but it’s challenging because I have so many backlogged posts! Here’s aย post that I meant to post last week:

I waffle back and forth about doing monthly favourites but I think a quarterly list works for me. Here are the items that have been standouts for me lately:

All of these items would be rated 8 out of 10 or above in my Stash Worthiness! ๐Ÿ™‚

February 2016 Low-Buy Accountability

This is the first check-in for my 2016 Low-Buy. ย For February, I allocated $50 to spend on makeup. ย I managed to stay within my budget! ๐Ÿ˜€
lowbuy_Feb2016
My first makeup purchase of February was in my LUSH haulย at the beginning of the month where I bought theย Sophisticated Cream Eyeshadow for $19.95

I had $30.05 left after that.

Optimum Points Redemption Beauty Event Haul

Yippee! Another opportunity to get free makeup! The Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Points Redemption event last weekend was all focused on BEAUTY – so what choice did I have but to get more makeup? ๐Ÿ˜‰
optimum_points_redemption_Jan2016_2
I had $200 to redeem. Yeah yeah, I just did a makeup purge and here I am, getting more stuff… (My stash was getting dangerously low with all the decluttering LMAO! ๐Ÿ˜† )
