Stash Dash: Oct 16 – 22

This was a BUSY week on the blog!  If you’ve missed some posts, I don’t blame you. Here’s what happened:

MyLipAddiction.com Beauty Podcast: Verbal Debauchery

I’m back on MyLipAddiction.com Beauty Podcast! 😀 There were so many potential titles for this podcast episode:

• 50 Shades of Cat n’ Stashy
• The One With The Sexy Time Talk
• Tips on Lips & Lips

You have to listen to understand… a warning / enticement – we swear and talk general smack about random things, including discussions that are sexual in nature. We talk about beauty, even. 😉

Cruise Life – My Experience

So what’s it like to go on a 7-day cruise? I’ll admit that I’m not keen on all-inclusive resorts, or packaged vacations because I feel trapped. I do not like being herded around like cattle for meal time and activities. I know a lot of people who have gone on cruises and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, so we decided to give it a try.

We went on the ship Vision of the Sea, which is part of the “Vision” class of ships from Royal Caribbean. We chose the cruise line based on a lot of discussions with friends and the top 3 recommended cruise lines were Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Celebrity Cruises was our top choice but it did not have any remaining sail dates for 2016 to the destinations we wanted.

I had jokingly said that I would name this post “Cruise Life for Type A Personalities” – I wouldn’t call myself a true “Type A” personality, but I do have some traits. It takes me a while to relax whenever we go on vacation. On a 7-day vacation, it probably takes me 2 days to stop pacing the hotel room, and then another 2 days to stop waking up at 6am. 😛 So how did I find cruise life?

China Glaze Hot Flash

I’m in a bit of a nail polish rut – can you believe that last week I only wore Orly Nailtrition on my nails and called it a day? No nail polish for a whole week! 😮 This polish is the one I wore this during my cruise vacation as my pedicure. In fact, these photos were taken before I went on vacation… 😛

For my trip, I was looking for a bright shade and China Glaze Hot Flash certainly delivered!

MUJI Skincare [+ GIVEAWAY!]

[THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED]

You probably know that I already love the MUJI skincare items that I’ve tried, so I was completely in my element at the most recent MUJI Canada Open House which was to showcase their skincare.
muji_skincare_2016_7
Similar to previous MUJI Open House sessions, it was a small intimate affair which I much prefer. 🙂 We learned about the different MUJI skincare lines with a focus on the Sensitive Skin range (my favourite!) and we all received a selection of products to try for ourselves. Here’s what we learned, and what we received.

PP12: The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation in 020 Bali Vanilla

I’m all caught up now! Back in synch with the rest of the Project Pan crew! 😀 And it’s also the half way point to our 12 week project.

Today we’re looking at the still relatively new Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation in 020 Bali Vanilla:

I bought this foundation on a whim back in March when this was newly launched. This costs C$25 for 30ml.

Stash Dash: My Attempt at a Weekly Round-up for Oct 9 – 15

All the cool kids are doing it these days. I think a weekly round-up post could be helpful for those of you who might not be able to browse blogs all week. My hope is to not only provide a centralized place to summarize all my posts from the past week, but provide some additional tidbits.

Project Pan 12: KATE Stick Concealer in Natural Beige

Stick concealers are notoriously challenging – here’s one that is multi-functional and it works well under the eyes too.

Nuworld Botanicals Cold-pressed Organic Sea buckthorn & Jojoba oil

In late August, I received a few items from Nuworld Botanicals to try:

I showed this in my August accountability post.

I did not select the specific items – I described a few of my likes and dislikes, along with my skin type and concerns – and left it up to Nuworld Botanicals to surprise me! 😀 Today I’m reviewing the first item that I’ve been testing for the past month, the Cold-pressed Organic Sea buckthorn & Jojoba oil:

If you’ve been a reader of this blog, you’ll know that I love oils for all sorts of beautifying aspects: cleansing, hydrating and protecting. So how does this oil from Nuword Botanical stack up against other oils I’ve tried?

PP12: Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick in Garance

This is the last of my catch-up posts for Project Pan. I’ll be back in sync next Monday. 🙂

Today I’m taking a closer look at an item that has made a few appearances on the blog before but never had its own limelight – the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 06 Garance:
Project_Pan_2016_intro_7
While I like some higher end makeup brands, I’m by no means into “designer” makeup brands.  I don’t own any “signature” lipsticks from the likes of YSL, Chanel, Dior… the Guerlain Rouge G is the most expensive lipstick I own (I also have another shade, #863 Provocative, a limited edition from 2013 in a black tube) and it cost me C$52 back in 2013 for this. They now retail for C$59 for 3.5g of product. 😮
