It’s been a while since I last did an update on my shopping accountability – the last one was way back in August, actually! That was to cover June and July spending, so that means I haven’t talked about how August to October went. Those 3 months were my No-Buys months, in preparation for Holiday spending. I’m pleased to report that those 3 months I was too busy to think about makeup. At first I was missing the shopping but I got used to it – I even went to a L’Oreal warehouse and walked away with just bar soap:
I got 4 bars of the Kiehl’s Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub Soap in Coriander. It’s the Limited edition by Kate Moross, which is from this year, it seems? One is already in use, as you can see. I paid $8 each for these.
So a pat on the back for me! 😀 But, we’re here to talk about November! I essentially did all of my shopping concentrated between the Sephora sale and Black Friday. In addition, I picked up random bits. A LOT of random bits:
There were just so many deals to be had… how could I resist? 😇

Happy International Women’s Day! 😀 What better way to celebrate Women’s Day than talking about pretty nail polish, right? 😉 But on a serious and personal note: I’m involved in a Women in Business network at work that meets regularly – recently I was privileged enough to meet women from across various industries. It was a powerful gathering of strong women who empower each other to be their best every day and help others rise up. It reminds me that women don’t always need to compete with each other, let’s work together and hold each other up. 🙂
Now, back to the nail polish – this is OPI Dim Sum Plum:
I picked this up during my manic polish shopping in January last year when I came off my year-long No-Buy. I got this polish for only $4 during a salon’s clearance sale.
February is a No-Buy month for me! I mentioned in my January accountability post that if all goes well this month, I’d have nothing to show. Well, February went well but I do have 3 things to show:

I went fairly standard this year for my Christmas mani – a shimmery red polish. That’s normally what I think of when I think of the holidays! I chose this one partly because of the name, Red Fingers & Mistletoes:
This was part of the 2014 OPI Holiday collection collaboration with Gwen Stefani, which I got earlier this year at a discounted price.
It officially feels like Christmas to me now! And so, it’s back to the Christmas theme on the blog. 🙂 I thought about drawing a new one for this year but laziness overcame me so it’s the same one as last year. If you’re new to the blog, then it’ll be new to you! 😉

I was reminded about this nail polish when I saw Rachael of HelplessWhistDrying post about OPI Russian Navy since I’ve seen comparisons between OPI Russian Navy, OPI Ink, and OPI Cosmo with a Twist.
I’d say Cosmo with a Twist is like a lovechild of Russian Navy (navy) and Ink (more purple) – it appears as both purple and navy with a hefty dose of shimmer. This colour was released as part of the OPI Starlight collection for Holiday 2015.
Last week I wore The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish in #620 Got the Blues, which I got during the makeup 50% off sale back in May.
This normally retails for $8 for a 6.8ml bottle.
