Last week I wore The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish in #620 Got the Blues, which I got during the makeup 50% off sale back in May.
This normally retails for $8 for a 6.8ml bottle.
I’ve done a review on the Colour Crush nail polishes before, as one of the first posts on my blog where I reviewed my first Body Shop polish, the shade Almond Kiss (the quality of the photos were terrible and I have toyed with the idea of redoing those older posts but I think it’s better to leave them as they are, to show progress…)

Got the Blues is a denim-y blue with a bit of a periwinkle leaning. It’s dusty enough that I don’t feel like I’m wearing BLUE nail polish to the office. Plus, I thought last week was a good week to bust out a more colourful mani since 1) my boss was a away (which is funny I’d even care since my boss actually wears more outrageous colours that I do) 2) it was a short work week since we had Monday off 3) it’s full on summer weather here 😛
I found the formula to be a bit on the thinner side, here’s the first coat:
But I achieved opaque coverage on the second coat:
The polish applies ever so slightly darker than how the polish appears in the bottle:
After 7 days of wear, this is what it looks like:
Oddly, I experienced a chip on the index finger on my right hand on Day 7 – I hardly ever get actual nail polish chips like this. I don’t fault the polish since it’s likely I was picking at something (probably a sticker).
I really should apply hand cream and / or cuticle oil before I take these photos! 😛 This is right after I had finished cleaning the kitchen. 😳 Keeping it real here…
My overall rating and review still holds true from the Almond Kiss review. The Body Shop Color Crush nail polish is a solid performing polish but the fat cap still bothers me, and it is expensive on a per ml basis compared to other polishes – I’d only ever buy these when there’s a 50% off sale.
Are you a fan of The Body Shop nail polishes? What’s your favourite blue polish?
By the way, I’ve determined with 97% certainty that the mystery shade from OPI is Venice the Party? based on comments on here and on Instagram.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback! ❤
Oh what a pretty cornflower shade, I love these shades for spring and summer.
Really must look at the TBS polishes in more detail, I always skim over them!
Also Venice the party looks bang on!

Give them a try – I do like the formula, very easy to apply. They do some fun colours. I noticed they don’t do any glitter though – all cremes and sheers.

I can’t believe that you can get seven days out of a polish! I’m lucky if I can make it to three without terrible chipping – even with base coat and top coat!

I’m pretty lucky I guess. It took a lot of trial and error to find the right combination of base / top coats. And I do try my hardest not to use my nails as tools (sometimes I fail like my index finger). And I always wear gloves whenever I’m doing chores.

That is one of my favorite summery shades!! Which top coat did you use? I’m amazed you were able to get 7 days of wear out of a basic polish with only one chip!

I use my usual top coat, the Poshe one. I did a review on it:

I love it so much!

I thought maybe you had used that Essie top coat!

No I haven’t yet. I wanted to try it over top a regular Essie polish but for some reason, none of my Essie polishes are calling out to me lately. This week I’m wearing China Glaze. I’ll try to wear Essie next week and use that Gel Couture top coat!

Oh no, too bad. Which base coat do you use?

I switch it up depending on how soft my nails are, but I mainly use the OPI and ORLY ones

Yes, Orly Bonder is my base coat of choice. Hmm everyone is different. I’ll test out the Essie Gel Couture top coat and let you know!

My nails are just difficult and extremely soft. Even acrylic nails peel off them after about a week. The Orly Bonder and Poshe top coat help me get 2-4 days wear out of polish when I would normally only get 1-2

This is such a gorgeous periwinkle shade! Off topic, but this is one of my wedding colours and I’m STRUGGLING to find things in this shade. Bah. The wear time is pretty impressive too – btw, great idea to take a picture of your nails freshly painted vs after seven days!
I think you should keep the pictures from your Almond Kiss post as is. It shows how much you’ve improved your photography skills!

Ooh really you’re having a hard time finding stuff in this shade? I’d thought it was a common / popular colour for weddings!
I toyed with not taking pictures of my 7 day / stale mani but I think it’s something “unique” that I can bring to an otherwise standard nail polish post. 😛 So you’ll have to see my ragged cuticles!

I thought so too, but now I’m starting to regret choosing this shade! It’s always either a truer blue, or a lavender – nothing greyish purple-blue 😛
Ugh, you never really realize how unkempt/dry your cuticles look until you take a close-up shot of your hands! I feel like it looks worse on camera than it does in person, haha.

RE: photos, I think so too. Same with pores / fine lines. I’m going to blur the heck out of my photos so it looks like a blob. LOL.

Haha, remember you said I had the smallest hands. 😛 Once I went for a massage and the masseuse was like, you have child-sized hands. 😆

Small hands = small nails = great for stamping! 🙂

Haha really? I thought bigger was better to show off the designs?

Trust me with this one. 🙂
Every single ‘full image’ is too small for my nails (even when they’re relatively short). Even the XL images on the MoYou plates are too small for me. I wouldn’t be able to show off those Konad or Bundle Monster ‘full images’ – unless it were for a nail fail post. Or to ridicule the manufacturers.
Trust me, your nails are perfect for stamping!

Ok then, I will have to pull out my stamping kit (now that I’ve located it!) and test it. I’m thinking over the long Labour Day weekend! 😛

Pretty shade, and the longevity seems reasonable compared to so many other brands I’ve tried that chips on the second day.

Oh that’s terrible! I can typically get at least 5 days.

Beautiful colour and it lasted so well on you. What top and base coat do you use? X

Thanks! I use Orly Bonder as my base coat, and Poshe top coat. I swear by that combination. I was through trial and error before I found those worked best for me.

I use Orly Bonder, so I’m missing that top coat. Seems to work amazing for you, so I need to try it☺ x

Such a nice shade! It looks kind of similar to Essie’s Bikini So Teeny, one of my favourite shades!

Oh yes Essie Bikini So Teeny. My friend has it. It’s probably slightly lighter according to this photo of them side by side:

My friend complained that Bikini So Teeny was difficult to apply.

I haven’t worn it for a while but I think it was a little streaky. I love the colour tho! 😉

This polish is such a beautiful colour! Like someone else mentioned, I sort of skim over The Body Shop’s polishes, I know they make them but I forget to take note of what shades they have. Even for $8 it’s good quality and wear time. Glad you solved your OPI mystery!

You should check out TBS polishes! Since they do go on sale all the time… just a little treat for yourself. 🙂

It’s definitely more wearable some something BLUE blue.

It lasts for 7 days!? 😲 I’m happy if my nails look decent 4 days 🙈 Or I’m just so picky that I can’t stand chipped nails.
I love the blue tone. It’s so pretty 😊

Yes it lasted for 7 days although I should mention that I do typically get good wear time on most nail polishes. That chip I experienced on my index finger was a bit of an anomaly for me, and it occurred on day 7 only so I didn’t have to live with that for long.

Thus is such a lovely blue. Not sure how you managed to make any polish last that long, mine always chips so much earlier than that. This does make me want to try some body shop polish (on sale, obviously) since I don’t thing I have a single one in my collection.

I’ve been lucky that I found a good combination of base and top coat that basically makes even the most crappy polish last decently! (Orly Bonder and Poshe top coat) I definitely think TBS polishes are worth a look – they have some fun shades and some nice greys and taupes! 😉
