Accountability Summary (+ Makeup Inventory)

In reviewing my post history, I realized that I’ve never once posted an annual summary of my Lo-Buy / No-Buy accountability.

These are all of my accountability posts from 2017.

And I think I know why… because I’m a sneaky cheat! 😛

Trash Stash 2017 Summary

Gosh, you guys! I never expected to have the kind of feedback in my previous post. Thank you. Truly.  ❤  To give you a time frame, I still have posts planned that will take us into February.  So I’m still here.  Let’s set all that aside for now, ok? 🙂

Nerd alert: I’ve been looking forward to doing this summary for the past few months. This is the third (and final) year that I’ll be doing this tally:

All of my empties for the year.

My goal this year was to achieve one empty product per day for a minimum of 365 empty products. Let’s see how I fared.

November 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

It’s been a while since I last did an update on my shopping accountability – the last one was way back in August, actually!  That was to cover June and July spending, so that means I haven’t talked about how August to October went. Those 3 months were my No-Buys months, in preparation for Holiday spending.  I’m pleased to report that those 3 months I was too busy to think about makeup.  At first I was missing the shopping but I got used to it – I even went to a L’Oreal warehouse and walked away with just bar soap:

I got 4 bars of the Kiehl’s Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub Soap in Coriander. It’s the Limited edition by Kate Moross, which is from this year, it seems? One is already in use, as you can see. I paid $8 each for these.

So a pat on the back for me! 😀  But, we’re here to talk about November!  I essentially did all of my shopping concentrated between the Sephora sale and Black Friday.  In addition, I picked up random bits. A LOT of random bits:

There were just so many deals to be had… how could I resist? 😇

May 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

After my previous month of hauling in my April Low-Buy, May was a month of resisting temptations! I did add a few items to my stash, namely, I went hairspray crazy:

I ran out of hairspray entirely and I always feel uneasy whenever I don’t even have a back-up in my stash! Here’s how the month went:

April 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

This is my first Low-Buy month this year since starting the No-Low-Buy “program” for 2017. I managed to pick up quite a few things – I had some luck on my side with some great deals, plus an Optimum Points redemption event:

I had $200 in my budget, let’s see how I did…

March 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

😳 I can explain!

February 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

February is a No-Buy month for me! I mentioned in my January accountability post that if all goes well this month, I’d have nothing to show. Well, February went well but I do have 3 things to show:

I didn’t buy any of these items myself, I swear! 😇

January 2017 No-Buy-Low-Buy Accountability

The title of this post is misleading since January was neither No- or Low-Buy. It was the magnificent month of Haulaury! 😀

I can’t be the only one who succumbed to all the post-holiday sales?

Trash Stash 2016 Summary

I started this tradition last year and I’ll continue as long as I keep up with my empties.  This is what 12 months’ worth of empties looks like:

😮  And since I have last year’s Trash Stash stats, I can also do some year over year comparisons!

New 2017 Focus: No-Buy-Low-Buy Hybrid

So, it’s resolution time! I toyed with the idea of doing a summary of my year long Low-Buy for 2016 but if you’ve followed along on the journey, it can be summarized as this: well-intentioned. 😉
no_buy_low_buy_2017_2
I did start out well early in the year but I got myself in the red badly by mid-year, which then meant that I had to go on a self-imposed No-Buy for a couple of months to get myself out of the hole.  But it was down hill once again by late Autumn. I’m not even going to insult you by posting a December Low-Buy post – I ended the whole year in the red in a bad way! 😳  If you’re curious about my journey, have a read through my Low-Buy Accountability posts.  Remember when I achieved my No-Buy in 2015, I rewarded myself?  Well, I didn’t achieve my Low-Buy target so no rewards to myself! 😥
