Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles: Chiffon, Comfort, Chocolate Crumble, Rosette

I remember a time when Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) was solely a brow product brand.  And look at it now!  According to Sephora, their most popular product is their Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette.  You know me, I can’t commit to a large scale palette so I was quite psyched when I learned that ABH launched single refills and a customizable palette.

I got these right before Christmas last year as gifts to myself. 😉

Affordable Drugstore Nude Palettes: Maybelline and Makeup Revolution

Today I’m looking at two affordable drugstore eye shadow palettes that I’ve been trying out for the past couple of months:

Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette – C$17.99
Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette in Iconic 2 – C$14.99

I received both of these from Rachael of Helpless Whist Drying blog who included both of these in her epic giveaway. I suspect that she’s a palette pusher and wants me to come over to the dark side… 😉

Finally! After owning this for more than a year, I got around to trying it and now reviewing it. 😛

Although this particular palette is no longer available, I hope my review of the products will help get a sense of bareMinerals pressed products in general.

My First HauteLook Order! (TheBalm Haul)

In my “final” Hauluary post, I mentioned that I was waiting for a couple more shipments – this is one of them!  In mid-January, I heard about TheBalm being on HauteLook for 50% off from Kaily – I was both excited and a little bit apprehensive. I’ve contemplated for years about ordering makeup off HauteLook since they hold such amazing sales, but living in Canada often adds a whole layer of complexity – not to mention expense – when it comes to ordering from US-based sites. So how was my first HauteLook experience from a Canadian perspective?

Pretty great, actually! 😀

H&M Eye Shadows and Blush Review

I bought a bunch of H&M Beauty items back in January during my free for all month of makeup haulage.  😀  I had been eagerly waiting to try the H&M Beauty ever since they re-vamped their line in late 2015.  Whenever I try out a makeup line for the first time, I always default to the products I’m most comfortable with: eye shadows and blushes! ❤

High Impact Eye Color Single Eye Shadow in Down to Earth, Cocoa Mauve, and Shiitake
Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Deep Brown

I’ve had a chance to wear these for a while so it’s high time I review them!

I’ve had these items in my stash for nearly a year! 😳 I did take photos of them back in September so I did manage to wear them on the weekends while I was doing Project Pan.

PP12: MAC Eye Shadows in All That Glitters, Patina, Satin Taupe, Romp

Yay, it’s finally a focus on the MAC eye shadow quad! 😀 I’m not supposed to pick a favourite out of my Project Pan items (because the other items would get jealous) but I’m going to admit that I love these eye shadows just a teeny tiny more. Shhhh. 😉

This is a MAC Pro Palette that I chose each colour myself, they are: All That Glitters, Patina, Satin Taupe, Romp:

Sadly, Romp is discontinued. But the other 3 are still readily available!

Maison Jacynthe Makeup Launch

I’m sure you’ve heard of this brand by now since it’s making the rounds on all the Canadian beauty blogs! 😉 I won’t bore you too much with the mythos of Maison Jacynthe (yes, there’s a real person behind the brand, Jacynthe René) as it’s been written about countless times recently – let’s just get into the products since that’s what I’m here for.  In September, I was contacted to select some products to try out – here’s what I chose:

• Eye shadow refill pan in 11 Macchiato
• Blush refill pan in 01 Romeo
• Large Compact

Rather than choosing only makeup items, I decided to pick the refillable compact because, you know that I don’t need any more makeup! 😛

Mary Kay haul and Review of Lash Intensity Mascara and Lash Primer

I have a friend who sells Mary Kay and knows about my makeup addiction – she reads this blog!  So when Mary Kay launched a new, much-raved about mascara, she informed me that I must try it. Of course, I had to place an order. But wouldn’t you know it, the mascara is such a hit that they were back ordered. 😦  After about a 2 week delay, I finally received the mascara, along with a few other goodies:

Lash Primer
• Lash Intensity Mascara
Mineral Eye Colour in Rosegold
Rose Gold Limited Edition compact
• Undereye Corrector

She gave me the eye shadow and lash primer for free. 🙂 I’ve decided that I’m not counting mascaras toward my Low-Buy because I replace them so frequently. And um, that under eye corrector, let’s call it part of my birthday haul, ok? 😉  The Undereye Corrector is a new product too, and I’ll be devoting an entry to review that.

So, the mascara that prompted me to place this order – how did it perform?
